600rr caliper conversion.

im trying to put an f4i rear caliper on my 07rr. the f4i caliper does not fit on the rr bracket. does anyone know if i get an f4i caliper bracket, would it fit on the rr? or i guess i could just get one from hohey!

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

the rear caliper on the 07rr is pretty weak. the piston is alot smaller than the f4i. i need more handbrake power, and i wanted to try this before having to go with the duel caliper setup.

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

i have a 14mm right now and its pretty weak on my rr. i put this same master on my friends f4i and it worked great! i guess i could try a 12mm master, but i had a f4i caliper handy so i figured i would try it first!

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

With the Ho Hey I think it still uses the stock RR caliper for the footbrake though. From what I hear, they're pretty bad.

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

they said i could use the 05-06 bracket, and run any 929, 954, f4 or f4i caliper. the 07rr caliper is junk!

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

Before you guys that havent seen the 07 600RR rear calipers yet start giving advice on this, do yourself a favor and look at one first. The 07 rear caliper is tiny, and I would look into swapping it out too...Its about half the size of the older Honda calipers, and is very weak....

He said any one of those calipers for the front or the rear?

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

ya i emailed them. they confirmed what i already new....the 07rr caliper is small and weak! they said i could buy the hohey bracket for the 05-06 rr and put any 929, 954, f4, or f4i rear caliber on it. i wish i could just find a bracket that would fit the f4i caliper and then would mount on my rr.

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

here is the email from them.

Yes we have a dual bracket and it is listed under our Honda page just no pictures. Our 05-06 600rr bracket fits the 07-08 600rr's but it requires the use of the older 600rr rear calipers which it a major plus! The newer 600rr's use a much smaller nissin rear caliper so upgrading to a older rear calipers off any F4,F4i,929,954.cbr 900 or even a 03-05 R6 will give you more braking for foot braking and handbraking. If your interested just buy on line purchase the -->

Combo deal! 05-06 600RR Bracket with extended steel braided brake line $249.00

Thanks again HHD

Re: 600rr caliper conversion.

its disconnected and the bike runs on idle just fine. i do not have any problems with crazy idle stories or the so called 2 stage engine brake! no fi light on, and the bike never cuts out.
