Tygershark, Is it HEAVY?

Trying to decide between a tygershark apex or a Sick Innovations cage for my f4i. Do the tygersharks really weigh your bike down? Those things look heavy. Not sure If I want a sick innovations because my buddy has one and it caused his motor to crack.

Re: Tygershark, Is it HEAVY?

Any cage can cause a motor to crack. Keep up on replacing your aluminum spacers.

I doubt the TS cage weighs much more than any other cage, regardless, it definitely doesn't "weigh the bike down."

SI didnt cause his motor to crack. having a cage(any cage) mounted and then dropping your bike real hard will cause it to crack. ive seen every cage on the market have that happen on every bike thats stunted especially if you dont keep the cage maintained with fresh bolts and keep them tightened. and who cares how much a cage weighs? youre not gonna race the bike. SI and TS are both great u wont be disapoined with either one.

Tygershark is made of solid steel, not tubing.

Re: Tygershark, Is it HEAVY?

Yeah any cage can crack motor/frame..Tigershark is the last cage you'd buy though since if it gets all bent up they'll fix it or replace it

Re: Tygershark, Is it HEAVY?

tygershark is best by far especially for the f4i the only heavy part of the cage is that it is heavy duty. i rode my f4i for a month with no cage put tygershark on and there was no difference if people think cages r too heavy then they need to step there game up just my

Re: Tygershark, Is it HEAVY?

Tygersharks are definitely a lot heavier than the others... they are also a lot stronger. It all depends on what you are looking for. A cage like 905 will bend/give or break before the bike. With a tygershark cage, the bike will break before the cage...they are very stout!

So I guess its whether you want to never replace your cage again, or if you want to let the cage fail to save extra stress to the bike.

But as stated above, you are stunting! It depends on the crash...you can hurt the bike with any cage if you crash right.

p.s. If you go with the tygershark (or any cage for that matter) make sure to keep the bolts tight and replace them if they bend or you risk damage cased by the cage.

you can see all of the cage options available at 1StopStuntShop.com

Have you ever actually used a Tygershark cage? Do you have any legitimate input as to why they are bad cages?

You spread this same bullshit in every cage thread, grow up.

I've broken 1 stator cover learning HC circles. I bent the cage on that wreck, and bent it on 2 other wrecks that didn't damage anything else.

My girl has pancaked EASILY 15 times on her cage. All she ever broke was sliders. We just finally sent it back to have them repair it as it was starting to bend.

The TS is a fantastic cage, as is SI's. I've seen Scott take a lot of good hits on his SI.

But you absolutely can't beat TygerShark's warranty. Scott had to replace his SI cage after he wore through the tubing on one side. My cage + stator cover is still cheaper than his 2 cages.

I think the 2 and 3 bar's difference is really just cosmetics. Bruce himself said the 2 bar is plenty strong enough.

I think the 2 bar looks better

Well, at least you're progressing to a reason. I've also *cracked* a stator on my old F4i after letting it get twisted beyond sense and not tightening my bolts. My mistake. It could have been easily avoided through common sense. So ONE friend you have had ONE stator cover brake ONE time. I can see your point, if your point is based off of one example. In all my posts you'll see how I say SI is a good product. For myself, tygershark cages are just as diesel and with (personally perceived) advantages. Anthony is not sponsored by TS he just likes the product. So trust the guy, he's level.

Re: Tygershark, Is it HEAVY?

Different cages work better on sum bikes, than on others..

The best design for an F4i is a tigershark.
