'96 F3 - Good first bike?

What up stuntlife?
I got my first bike(93 fiddy, REALLY wish I kept it) when I was 5, and also had a super fast banshee a few years back; I'm not gonna lie though, I'm still pretty much a beginner rider. I've have always wanted a somethin to hit the streets with but haven't had one yet.
I wanna get into stuntin and was lookin for an f4i or an rr but can't find one for the right price - as I know I'll be droppin the bike and only wanna spend around 3 to 35 for my first bike.
I found an f3 that this girl is sellin and was wonderin if it'd be a good starter bike and if parts are fairly common. I found a cage on SI's site but no 12 bar, although I'm sure I could make my own 12 bar...

Heres the ad-

Anyway thanks for helpin out another new guy.

Oh yeah and haters please chime in too, I'm game. Gotta start at the bottom in any game.

Sounds like you definetly have enough dough to get something injected. You can find wrecked/rashed F4i's here on the west coast for less than 3 G's. Keep lookin.

Re: '96 F3 - Good first bike?

an F3 is a great bike to start on and learn lots. carbed bikes are actually alot smoother on the throttle and i rode one in the lot and it was real nice actually. the only thing u have to be concerned about is if you drop it dont leave it sittin on its side too long or it will get flooded, and also not a good bike for doing bar tricks like watchtowers and **** like that cuz it will flood and stall out. everything else the bikes great for learning. dont let ppl tell you taht you need an f4i. u can stunt any bike and f3's get the job done just fine. take a look at edub when he had an f2 murdering that ****, and alot of the euro guys still run bikes like that. but watch the price, i wouldnt pay more than 2500 for a mint f3.

Re: '96 F3 - Good first bike?

Thanks alot guys.

Yeah I thought I'd be able to get somethin injected for 3 or so but I'm anxious, I guess thats my problem!

Is there any better place to look than just craigslist, ebay, and here?

Cycletrader seemed to be a joke when I looked at their site...

We all know you can stunt anything......my first stunt bike was an '01 FZ1....loved it and still do. If your spending limit was $1500, then I would most definetly suggest an F3......BUT, since you're willing to spend up to $3,500......I'ld say find an F4i or an '03-'04 636. You will have a much broader parts selection, as well as a lighter bike w/ nothing to hold you back in the future. ****, if you can't find anything and you're willing to drive.....there's an '03 636 w/ 3,000 miles for sale here in Nor-Cal for $2,000. Mechanically sound w/ cosmetic damage.

Yeah, I guess I'm a little blind to the rat race. There's only 3 or 4 f4i's in my whole county, and 2 are stunt bikes. F4i is a WAY sexier bike, IMO......but, to each his own. I kinda forgot about the exploding 636 issue.....while one of my boys was learning, he blew a 636 motor.....they don't like high rpm whoolies. Might want to stay away from a 636, atleast until you have BP and brake control down.

Re: '96 F3 - Good first bike?

hahahah gotcha, I'm tired and a little slow right now I guess...or always...

Anyway thanks again for the input...I'll keep lookin.

So the 636's like to fly apart being over-reved or what?

Also I want to keep it legal and be able to cruise it, so it won't just be a lot bike...for now...

Re: '96 F3 - Good first bike?

I wouldn't pay three for that bike unless it came with lifetime on-call ******** from the girl. You should be able to find a decent f4i for that price.

tell her you will give her 2K max for it, great first bike though fuel injection is NOT neccessary if you are learning. IT HELPS but before the day of handbrakes sprockets and all that shyt there were people killing e2,f3's and shyt all over the place. Great beginner i wouldnt payt more than 2K for a clean one. Everyone is so spoiled and used to adding this and taking away that and changing this they forgot the roots didnt have anything but a hwy. Get your stunt on.
