SI or TS on 03 636

is the sick innovations cage better then a tygershark for an 03 636? from what i found they are both the best for the kawi but it seems that most stunters run an si. i dont want to cut the fairings if i dont need to and the bike will be on the street so lean is why its between these 2. are they both equivalent and its just personal pref?

Re: SI or TS on 03 636

What is that in your avatar? It looks like a cross between a rowing machine and a bigwheel. Anyhow... I like the S.I. cage on the Gsxr 600 and a friend of mine has one too on his 03 636. I've neve even seen a tigershark for the 636 so I couldnt tell you the difference.

SI 220. life time warranty on broken welds, rock solid cage plenty of clearance

TS 300 life time warranty on cage comes with springy sliders also plenty of clearance

you pick.

all thing being equal, its worth the extra bill to not alter the plastics imo

Iguess its all in what you want for your bike. Mine has no plastic so it didnt matter, it just came down to the price thing.

Re: SI or TS on 03 636

si will always be stronger as it uses a 3 point bolt up system, a hard enough knock on the ts cage and your caseings are history.....
imo

Can't yall see the warning signs or is it just me?

-dont want to cut plastics
-worried about lean angle

and your seriously worried about spending an extra hundo to avoid cutting a 1" hole in your plastics?!?!

If you plan on looping it "good" at any point, then get something that won't tear your motor apart in the process of destroying your precious plastics.... (and save a hundo too)

Re: SI or TS on 03 636

by the sounds of it both cages are good but ts causes structural problems where the si distributes the impact due to the additional lower bar. makes sense to me. i like the way the ts looks and would pay extra for it but not at the expense of structural integrity to the frame or motor.

The TS is solid, if you order the EVO cage its the most diesel piece I've seen. You can get LOTS of good crashes out of the standard TS cage. But if you're serious about beating the hell out of your bike, the cage I had Bruce build for me (now called the EVO) is the most solid thing, period. Bellow is a picture. Another TS benefit is the brace can easily be built into a radiator support. We all know how fubar the rad gets without a strong rig.

I've flipped my bike end over end, barrel rolled it, pancaked tank circles, looped an endo, had a super rage session, all recently (last 2 weeks). The cage has nothing wrong with it, and I've broke not one piece on my bike with full levers, and full footpegs. They just got released too, let the new hotness for the 636 dominate!

PS: You need to pick up a sick innovations sub cage, it's a great compliment to either cage and is good bike protection too.
