Ok, I know this should be in help and how to, but, you know the deal.
About an hour into my DB bar install and I have all the cables and controls in place and triple marked (extra triple).
Any final words before drilling??? I think Im going to Home Depot for new bits, I do not have a drill press, only vise.

dirt bars wont make u any better, run aftermarket clip ons flipped. they have the same sort of feel and wont make your bike look like ****.

 

I may try other things, but I want to try this first cause I got it in a nice trade. Ill be leaving for Home Depot soon (In the car ) Hopefully Ill be ready for some afternoon riding.

 

db set up is the ****! dont listen to the haters! if thats what you want, then use them....just mark the spot and drill the hole. just start with a small hole and go bigger as needed.

 

Im also looking for the biggest washers that can fit on the bottom so itll take some stress off the triple. I think I may drop my forks about an 1/8th inch. Will this affect the bikes balance too much. I really dont want to raise the front, Do I Better or worse for stoppies

 

u know what word i cant stand hearing. "haters" its so overused. everytime someone has a different opinion on something theyre a "hater". i dont hate dirtbike bars, i had them on my gsxr 750 and it wasnt worth the time, effort or making my bike look retarded. so i like to share my experience.

on the bottom of the clamp there are two casting marks(little raised circles) they will get you right on straigh. If your using the tag risers you will probably have to raise the front end because the bars usually hit the tops of the forks.

 

it is what it is bro! i see people on here all the time ripping on db set ups. just like the people on here that run full fairing. they always talk **** on streetfighter style. i mean how many times have you read where someone says...flat bars are dangerous, use a round bar? i run a round bar now, but i still think the flat bar set up is so much better. you never see someone with a db set up talking down someone using clippons. not to mention i put the lol right after, so i was not being a dick about it! my only point is if the guy wants to try the db set up, then he should try it. you said yourself that you had it on your gsxr 750. i guess you didnt like it so you took it off, but that dosnt mean that he wont like it.

i always hear people talking bad about SF and DB.. wtf.. for what? you had a bad experience? well there are a bunch of people who had good experiences.. so let people ****** try different setups like you did so they can choose for themselves what they like best...

sdfkillz, you weren't wrong in what you wrote it was just your opinion BUT i think it was the way you said what you said why it comes off like you are a "hater"... it sounded more like you were shoving clipons down his throat instead of presenting your opinion...

i personally like DB and SF.. and i like the feel and look.. and DB put you in a more aggessive over the bike position..and SF what less cluster up front giving a less obstructed area.. but yes i thing just tank and tail section can be perrty ugly im more into 3/4 fairing.. IMO

Bolting **** up right now. will take pics at the lot later. I will need a longer brake line but its usable now. Not great but will work till the new line comes next week. I raised the front by the slightest bit and screwed the adjusters in pretty tight. Ill see how it is later. Getting back to work now
