r6 subframe

Does anyone on here have a picture of an 03-05 style r6 subframe that has been beefed up? I know there was a thread floating around a while back that someone had welded some supports but I can't find it. If anyone knows this thread or has pics let me know. Thanks

Re: r6 subframe

I have FS 12 bar on 03 R6. Just put that all the way in and tight it well with four nuts and bolts. It sort of reinforces the subframe. welds don't stick to subframe.

Re: r6 subframe

yo run a custom 12 bar down to the main frame, hugging your subframe, tie in with longer bolt, then turn and go down to your top rearset bolt and tie in with longer bolt, wa la you just encased your subframe with steel and all the pressure will dissipate down to those 2 points when you drag or clack out on 12, this mod will help tremendously but that subframe is still garbage and may still break setting down hard stoppies and so on.

Re: r6 subframe

I beefed my mine up and it stood up to all kinds of ****. Number one buy a FS 12 Bar and then go to your local machine shop and have them weld alunimum plates on the inside of the subframe up at the very front and that is all you need.
And scrapeworks is out of business. I also know that Bill Dixion is working with a company on building an aftermarket subframe for the 03 -05 r6 and 06-08 r6s

Re: r6 subframe

Or do this, the main stress points on a r6 subframe is in the front so this is what I did on one mine.

Re: r6 subframe

would you reinforce it the same way if you put a round 12 bar on there ?
