Wheelie Advice Needed

Ive been doin power wheelies for a few years but never for more than a few seconds, and never standing up. I would just like to be able to do stand up wheelies at balance point comfortably. How should i do em? Clutch? Should i get a hand brake? Is there a technique to standing up? Help Please...

Learn your rear brake good. Make sure you can come up without flipping over. I perfer to clutch up from slower speeds. But if you wana power up just get into the stance and when you hit the gas pull up on the bars and lean back. practice small ones till u get more comfortable and then go higher and higher ( AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE YOUR FOOT RIDING THE BRAKE AT FIRST) <-------so important to not flipping

never power them up, bruh. learn to clutch them up. it's safer and u can control ur wheelie more once u have it down. left foot on ur rear peg, right foot covering the brake. practice clutching it up at different speeds and if it comes up too fast close the throttle and hit the brake.

the end.

Do not power them learn to use to clutch. Wheelies are a lot more controlled. Start off bringing them up a bit at a time and get a feel for your rear brake.

well, even if you power it up as the wheel comes up begin to stand up at the same time. do you power it up in first or second? Since you are powering it up, keep your hand steady to keep it up. letting it go up slow youd beabe to keep it up for a about a mile maybe 2, when you begin to stand up, like they said keep your foot on that brake, but never hammer on it if your going fast enough you could bounce and that would be as bad as flipping.

u should have some sort of cage too...

but the slower you are clutching it up. the safer you will be...

go on youtube and watch professional motorcycle stunt vids to get an idea and look at the posture during a wheelie. as far as a cage, u need a pipe bender and need to be good at welding and know where to mount the cage so i suggest u just buy one, unless u have access to a cage so u can study its design.

well you can do both, stand up and then bring it up or as you bring it up stand up. but it all depends if your gonna slowing the wheelie down to start a circle or if your just gonna do a long straight wheelie. usually i find it easier if your gonna slow the wheelie down to do a wheelie stand before you clutch it up, but since you have an r1 then with second gear you dont have to clutch it up when standing, but if your gonna do a long straight wheelie then as you power it up stand up at the same time. but even if you stand up first its actually (i find easier) to get it up and handle it then bringing it up and standing as i bring it up. and about the cage i would personally recomend just go ahead and buying one you can get a freestyle injunity's bar on ebay for like $100.

honestly that depends on how fast you are going, usually with r6 most of your wheelies are in first gear, less you have a bigger sproket, try riding about 20-30, and clutch it up to about 7-9 thou rpm youd have to really preload the shock
