Re: 05-06 636 fan switch

I only see two wires on my diagram. Looks like the black wire with the white tracer is B+ while the black with yellow tracer is ground. If you want to manually control the switch, take the black and white wire to a remote switch then to B+. You can wire it up to come on automatically and manually (when you want it) but I don't feel like typing that much

or you could figure out which one is the ground wire, hook that up to one terminal on the switch, and then hook the other terminal of the switch to a good known ground. this way the fan will still come on by itself when the temp gets to its magic number of usually around 220F

No, that wont work. The relay is actuated by B+, not ground. In other words B+ pulls the pole, not ground.

Re: 05-06 636 fan switch

Left side of the rad there is a thermo switch with 2 wires, put a switch on those 2 wires inline and your done. But be carefull and always remember to turn it off because on the kawi the fan has constant power even when the bike is off with the key out. So if you leave it on it will run even if you take the key out of the bike...Also dont cut the thermo switch off add the manual switch in-line, so you can turn it on manually whenever you want, but the thermo switch will turn it on automatically if you forget and the bike gets hot...

thanks i figured it out but my radiator doesnt have a thermo switch on the radiator. Its on the back left side of the motor and theres three wires one runs the temp to the tach and the other to power it and on the 05 06 its now powered all the time only when its running

Next Problem.
when i got the bike it needed muffler when it ran w/o muffler the FI light was on now that i wired the switch up and put the muffler on the light only comes on when i turn the fan on???
