XDL 2008 contingency program
Great way for smaller companies to get involved to get some of the top riders reppin their product, also a great way to put some extra cash in riders pockets!
we had to do it official since some other people have screwed it all up
XDL ANNOUNCES CONTINGENCY FORMAT
Santa Monica, CA (February 27, 2008) -- The XDL US Sportbike Freestyle Championship is taking another step towards building a professional sport by launching a format for contingency sponsorships. "Contingencies are important for many reasons" stated series founder Randy Grube. "They provide a tangible method for companies to integrate their product into the sport in a cost-effective manner, and they help put money in athlete's pockets. We did a fair amount of research before we got into this and found that most contingency programs fail due to a lack of structure and process. XDL has always excelled at building a professional environment for the athletes and sponsors, so we are confident our contingency format will satisfy everyone's needs."
The XDL contingency format allows sponsors complete freedom to specify requirements and athlete benefits. And it is backed by a seven step process as outlined below.
· Register - Sponsors register their program with XDL.
· Define - Sponsors specify the type and amount of payout, as well as terms of eligibility.
· Announce - XDL posts the program on site and sends out rider bulletin and press release.
· Participate - Competitors register at xdlshow.com and select contingencies.
· Verify - XDL officials verify compliance with program requirements during technical inspection.
· Report - XDL sends sponsors a post-event report and podium pictures, specifying winners.
· Pay - Sponsor pays rider cash and/or product.

Decals must be visible on the bike used in the competition. Decals must be placed on the left and right side of the bikes in the middle to upper section of the body (See Photo)
Riders looking to be eligible must register with SMF Cycles at least 30 days prior to competition. Once registered the rider is eligible for the season. Failure to register will disqualify the rider. Absence of decals will also disqualify the rider. Any rider found cheating, sharing products or involved in assisting another rider in any deceitful manner will be disqualified for the season pending further review.

Sponsored riders or riders given product directly from SMF Cycles have the opportunity to earn extra money. Each time a sponsored rider appears with the above products in any motorcycle industry publication, the sponsored rider will receive a check for $25.00. Product logo must be seen in the image. Advertisements for our or any other products are excluded.
In exchange for products we expect every sponsored rider to proclaim the benefits of the product and express appreciation for our support at each and every public appearance (Shows, Events, Competitions and Interviews). Increased sales will create increased Contingency payouts.
We wish all riders a safe and successful 2008 season and look forward to seeing you at the events!

Re: XDL 2008 contingency program
I, SMF Cycles, am one of the product suppliers that offer contingency money for using our products (Craft helmets & Barracuda Exhausts) at the XDL events. I posted what we are offering at XDL.
Hopes are that there will be many other suppliers will also offer money to riders at these events when the riders competeting use their products.

Re: XDL 2008 contingency program
Every rider competing should take the XDL News Release and send it out to every sponsor they have. For the Riders it just means more money for doing well with the sponsor's product. Sponsors in return get the exosure.
BTW - Chris love the Avatar, Nascency at the steps of Notre Dame. I Gave Borne a lot of cash to offer up as a Church donation in hopes of SMF's prosperity, I think he wasted it on Booze and French Hookers though.
