More tire help

how the hell do i break the bead or know when its broken really? Been workin on the tire a bit, got the tire away from the rim bout 1/4 of an inch, is the bead broken? Tried the 2x4 wedged under the car and the c-clamp method, just wondering if their are any other tricks?

if ya got the tire away from the rim the bead is broken...

I use the truck tire over the bead method (when I do my own)... but have gotten it loose just from steping on it real hard a couple times.

my buddy has a tire machine at his shop so i go there instead of hackin up my rims now.... the bead is the easy part, gettin the tire off is the part that sucks.

Re: More tire help

set the wheel on like a towel(if u care about scratches)if its an old tire ur just tryin to get off grab a shovel, tuck it right under the lip of the rim and jump on the shovel with a hard jump.done it prolly like 50 times.even on a chrome rim with no damge.i can take a tire off and mount it back up in 5min with the ghetto shovel method.oh..and some tire levers
