9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
and still now handbrake pressure
. I got air trapped in the new fullthrottle supermoto setup and cant get it out to save my life!! Anyone got any tricks to bleed it, here is what I did
-Filled the foot master
-held the line up from the foot master and pumped the pedel till the line was full with no air in it
-hooked that line to the remote master
-pumped the foot pedel till that master was full
-hooked up the next line
-held it up and pumped the foot pedal till that line was full
-hooked it to the rear caliper
-pumped and bled, cracked every line/beeder I can
-put the bike on a ramp to make sure all the lines were runnin up hill to the remote master
-pumped some more and bled and cracked more bleeders
still have air stuck
I have installed dozens of adapter systems and full throttle foot master systems with no poblems, but I must be pullin something retarded on this one. anyone have some tips, I'm loosin it over here!!! Thanks in advance.

Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
huh, sounds like you got it down...my only sugggestion is get a mighty vac for like $30 at ?O'Reiley's? and it eliminates some possible mistakes that can be made.
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
everyone says dont use a vacuum pump, but thats all i use and have never once had a problem with any of my handbrakes or the handbrakes i have installed.
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
The only thing i've had to do since i started using one, is crack it after and put a air bubble in the master (hb) so it's not so damn hard.
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
Vac pumps dont work well on bike , i personally rather use pump and it works the best for you to feel when its stiff or not.
i had same problem when i got new line so i had to exchange it , if you notice theres a little fluid coming out of banjo and walsh then you will need new line.

I checked the lines and can't find any leaks.
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
I think I'm just gonna call bill in the morning, I'm gettin real frustrated right now, hopefully that air will work its way up to the top by morning.
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
Bill told me to squeeze the rubber line that goes to the res. cup and also tap the master with a wrench to get the bubble's to break free
I had an air bubble stuck in the rubber line between the cup and master

Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
i use a clear tube to hook up to bleeder, into a can,................................fill cup with fluid....................................,pump footbrake like 10 times,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, hold it down and pump the handbrake without letting go of footbrake,,,,,,,,,,,,,, release the bleeder without letting go of the footbrake ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,start pumpin handbrake and fill cup with fluid as you go ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,but never let go of the footbrake while pumping handbrake, close the bleeder after a while of pumpin hb,,..then try it out,..
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
i put a hose from the bleeder on the caliper into new fluid and pump, so that even when you let the lever go, it only sucks clean fluid back in, thats how i bleed EVERYTHING!!!!
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
ryan if you have the lines on right do exactly what you did in your post but when connecting the line to the rear caliper maybe try bringing the caliper up to the line instead of bringing the line down to the caliper and then bleed the system with the caliper being the highest point...
and only use the foot lever to pump with don't touch the remote master also make sure the remote master has no tension on the lever...
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
don't judge too quickly kevmo he may have the lines on wrong ....

Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
That's the first thing I thought when I read this...
like frothy fluid, and new braided lines will cause little tiny air bubbles to catch and form in the tiny imperfections against the inside wall of the line... especially if they are brand new! Setting overnight probably will help! It's worked for me a couple of times like that anyways. fustration leads to walkin away and it's magically bled out by itself in the morning....
Hope you figure it out... I was lookin into getting one for my moturd too.
let us all know how it turns out!
Re: 9 hours and 2 quarts of brake fluid
i think when you lower the line to hook it up to the caliper you are spilling out brake fluid and that means a **** load of air in the line going to the caliper, if you are holding that line up and then pump a bunch of fluid through it there will be no air in it ..
then if you take the caliper off the bike and bring it up to the line you wont spill any fluid out and any air in the system will only be in the caliper so it should be easy to bleed out as long as you keep the caliper as the highest point when bleeding it....
as far as not pumping the remote master goes when ever i bleed my hand break i never touch the foot break because it is trying to suck from the top master but with your system the remote master would be trying to suck from the foot master so i figure if you just pump with the foot master you will only be sucking from the res and that is designed to be gravity fed so no problem with that
