my take on the hoheydesigns 636 4 piston caliper setup

anyone that rides a 636 using a junction style hb setup or a hoheydesigns setup knows that the stock caliper just doesnt do the job very well, even with an aftermarket radial master cylinder. the setup is super weak to start, and adding idle to it only makes it weaker and weaker. i got my 636 a few weeks ago and this was the only complaint that i had, and definately had to some how have a stronger hb setup.
I was lucky enough this weekend to try out the new HHD 4 piston dual cal. setup on my 636 and i am in love. i once thought that too much braking might not be good, but given the whole weekend to ride with this has definately changed my mind. the braking power is an unbeleivable difference than the stock caliper. no matter what idle i'm at i can always overpower it with the hb which i couldnt do with the old setup. this is the strongest hb i have EVER felt and i love it. everyone that rode my bike also felt the same way.
i would strongly suggest this setup not just cause i am sponsored by hoheydesigns but because i believe in this product. THIS SETUP GETS IT DONE!

the pad doesnt make complete contact with the rotor, there is no way around it using the 4 piston.

i havent tooken the pad off yet to see the contact points. but on the f4i 4 piston you only have to shave off right under an 1/8 of an inch of pad. i will try to get pics of my pads when i take them off

there is a small portion of the pad on top that doesn't contact the rotor, after time, the rest of the pad where's down, leaving this small untouched portion on top. it should be fine for a while without shaving anything. just keep an eye on it.

Front calipers and pads are designed to be used on much larger diameter front rotors, so when you use them on smaller rear rotors some of the pad does not come in contact with the rotor. If you dont shave it as the pads wear the 2 pads can bottom out on eachother, where they do not come in contact with the rotor...

soo you just ride with it awhie and use it, then take the pad off and shave down the spots that look like they arent rubbing? or how much do you know how to shave down?? i could just be making this harder then it really seems lol

That makes perfect sense, so is it a difficult task to trim? what tool is good to trim them with?
