So the day after stuntwars i took my bike apart to paint it. just got it back together tonight after painting my tank 4 times, tail 2 times, and 2 hours to get the cage back on. Not to mention a **** load of $ for how it turned out . What does a decent paint job usually cost? Nothing fancy just maybe like 2 colors. I probably have about 30 hours and $250 into mine for supplies etc.(keeping in mind i got my powder coating for free). definately goona pay someone to do it next time.

 

I paid $15 for my rattle can paint job and it turned out pretty good.

 

when i was in floriduhh i got my whole bike painted one color by a guy for 140 dollars, i bought the paint 40 dollars, he did a real good job too.

 

yea they do suck to paint i just did a friends bike for 500 that included pepairing the fairings and it was just a 1 color job..anyway the kind of paint job u do to ure bike is the determining factor in cost ..sigle stage(urethane) would be the cheapest way while base coat clear coat (2-3 stage)would be more expensive but durable..u do the single stage cause were constantly repairing and repainting.. even brands of the materials have a price ..for bc/cc i like to use glasurit a good quality paint from germany ..single stage..go with dupont

I know a couple of places here in so cal that will do it for like 600, give them the bike and they take the parts off paint em and put it back otgether. they do your rims and miscelaneous plastic pieces like mirrors and whatever else you can think of.

from far away, it looks okay, but from close up, it's ****.

...i think a pro. painter would have been able to do a really nice jon with the material above...i juss didn't know wtf i was doing.

man, i went to a local place about a mile from my job called Mike and Jerry's Auto Paint Supply to ask for info on what i'll need to start learning to paint small ****, and the guy there was completely useless. i mean, i know he sells paint and isn't an instructor but god damn, i'm always willing to at least point someone in a direction to get started. i mean he didnt make a single recommendation; not one. i'm just gonna do a **** load of internet research, ask questions on forums, and do trial and error.
