DENTING THE TANK ON A 06 600rr ??
Re: DENTING THE TANK ON A 06 600rr ??
I saw a rr with a tank cover that was molded, it just attached to the tank and it was flat. It was a silver 600rr, like a 03 or 04, I think the guy rode with the Local Boys outta STL. Anyway, I don't know where he got it, but he seemed to like it.

i just got of the phone with crazy martin
what u do is take of the plastic then dent the actuall tank in and then u take a torch and heat up the plastic from underneath and poot it back on and dent it lil by lil by hand and then heat it up again then back and forth like that till it takes the shape from the gas tank underneath it.
if anybody has a better ideal let me know before i do this , i wont have my bike back from the shop for another 5-6 days anyways. thanx guys !

dont use a torch, use heat guns and have someone help you. the plastic will want to cool very quickly, heat the underside with heat gun/s quickly put it back in to place and press it down with something liek a rubber mallet or something, wear gloves so u dont burn yourself.

i did this one by myself...what i did was....mines off an 04 but i believe its the same thing
dent the metal tank under the plastic and then heat the plastic with a heat gun....put it on as it would sit and then stand on it (you gotta do that quick, as its still hot as ****) and then as i was standing on it heat around your shoes and adjust your feet with the way you wanna sit on it...its a pain in the *** and it takes a while but i love the way mine feels

Re: DENTING THE TANK ON A 06 600rr ??
my friend dented his tank, cut a hole in the tank cover to match the dent. then fiber-glassed the back cover to get a better lip and then surfboard gripped it. kinda shitty but you get the idea.

Re: DENTING THE TANK ON A 06 600rr ??
The Plastic cover covers the tank and the air box and there are wires that go to the air box so it probably would be a good idea to ride it like that. It will still run but you will see the wires and it will look like ****.
