a few years like what? 07-08 got a weight reduction and a few more hp plus that electronic dampner. the 03-04 has the standard fork, the 05-06 as you well know im guessing your frame is about the same as mine it'll hug the bike, highway u'll find urself slowly nearing the top of 6th gear praying for a 7th gear or some power jolt, a pipe and a power commander wont help much extensive tuning makes an extensive pocket to power difference but corners and track the 600rr is a fantastic factory bike. if you drop years to an 03, swap your forks and it'll feel similar to the 06. same hard as hell seat, same tank hugging encouraging fairing shape.

the 03 doesnt have the inverted forks like the 05+ do... but it still probably the best handling bike i've owned.
i havent riden in a month due to shady weather/ me being sick/ cold weather i live by the ocean.

but i've put on about 300 miles since i bought it 2 months ago and i like it
i need to adjust the suspension a bit i'd say but i can toss it around like its nothing. but the 03's arent as snappy as the 05's and up. i got a lil bigger sprocket in the rear on mine so it kind of makes up for it but i miss the 929 power that i used to have.. but i wouldnt feel as confident going into turns on that as i do on this 600rr.

but i paid damn near 5G's for this 600rr including registration which was a whoppin 389$

but out of all the bikes i owned i really really miss my 99 cbr F4. iono why it was loud, pretty quick, i put like 5-6 thousand miles on it crashed on it dropped it took it to the limiter pleeenty of times and it would still fire up every morning with no hesitation. and it had 30+ thousand miles on it.

so since then i've been stickin to hondas.
the only thing i dont really like about this RR is that the ***** runs HOT at long red lights as i've said before and its kinda slow i'd say but i had a bigger bike before so i just gotta get used to it again.

but in your area i would say get another f4i or a 636. prices should be a bit cheaper then california i'd say

or look for salvaged bikes just make sure theyre mechanicly sound and front ends are good.

but if i were you i would settle that measly 150$ debt you got with the GSE guys

Re: Cost of Bikes

i think f4i and f4's are more relaxing to ride. plus they sound pretty nice with the right exhaust

for now i got the stock exhaust on mines and i dont mind it
but my f4 had a m4 exhaust and it sounded beeeefy and it was only a slip on.

watch it kid, as i've admitted i ain't no stunt king or nothin but all i do all day almost everyday is work on bikes. i spend down time studying microfiches matching parts on bikes and studying differences. as i stated, judging from ur frame u'll hug the bikes shape, which is why u get used to the seat, im guessing u sit towards the middle of it as the padding things and contours on the edges but u dont spend too much time planted on any one part of the seat to deaden the foam. 6th gear u can cruise sure, but i went 600's to my 929 n picked up the 600rr so cruising left me wanting of the 600rr. trouble with my bike choice is the 929 has top speed but the 600 has blast acceleration i only got it cus it was a craigslist deal that i wasnt even gonna go see n decided to on a whim, met the owner, worked on it a bit, got it started $ out n took it home. i found myself wanting a 600 again and i reverted back. i found the gsxr 750 at a tight deal and then this last 600rr but i assumed my median would be the 750 but not yet rode it so im not sure. but as i said, 03/04 fine just upgrade ur forks.

for the heat problems u can run a 2nd fan fairly easily. moriwaki exhausts are brutal at any rpm. f4 n f4i's as we all know are more comfortbale because they're modeled to be a sport touring bike, take it on the rode for a while with the more upright rider position and ergonomics. cali has registration tricks a lot of them come into play not in paper but in conversation with the dmv clerk, asking question they dont expect so they'll just make the adjustment instead of asking for a manager. 929 power is great yes but high cc bikes arent made for curves. the 600s have the weigh and acceleration beneifts, a higher cc bike shares these benefits at speed. one of those poetry in motion things. once the bike gets moving its easier to control in corners but then again, in bay area hills you dont have space to wide glide corners before u head on traffic or hit the rail. as far as heat at lights... what mix antifreeze/water are you using? bay area we can run straight water, it doesnt get cold enough for need of coolant and coolants also so much thicker then water so it gets hotter faster
