Magnesium and Tungsten are not ideal and I wouldnt use either of them...Like mentioned Tungsten is brittle, and nobody mentioned but Mag is very sensitve to the elements and needs to be painted....If any bare Mag is exposed it will corrode very fast, and once it start to corrde it also becomes very brittle....

Bottom line Ti is what you want....
can i get a TI fairing stay for my 03-05 R6?

yes tungsten is radioactive and is too hard for a scrape plate, it will shatter on contact .. try hitting a plate of tungsten with a hammer see what happens.. i work in a fab shop and jonnyp ti will not last longer but does though some amazing lookin sparks and you can drill and tap easly with the right stuff find a friend that will help you couse a fab shop will rip ya off

Well I had a Ti plate and to me it seemed like it was lasting longer, and it makes sense to me when I think about it.....Ti is harder then steel so why wouldnt it last longer scraping It is a bitch to cut, drill and tap compared to steel...

not if you keep it cool.

heat it to make it last longer, cause it does get harder with heat.

My wife tells me that I need to wipe my *** better because my dingleberries are making my underware a nasty mess, however I like the idea of her down in the basement doing laundry and cleaning up my foul nasty underware.
