Adding to a cage??

I have an 02 f4i and a FI cage. I was wondering if anyone welded ends on the frame slider area rather than use the pucks?

Will this hurt my bike if it lands hard or ??? If youve done it let me know how it worked.

I was going to extend them about 2"

Re: Adding to a cage??

extending the ends will increase the amount of leverage and cause the motor mounts more stress
