GSX-R 750 or 03 636

I just sold my 2004 gsxr 750. Full Fairing and I loved stunting on it (variations of wheelies and stoppies) nothing slow speed or parking lot. Anyway im now in the market for a new bike. I have two ideas. I like the 2006 gsxr 750's but I also like the 2003 636's. I could buy myself a nice 06 gsxr 750 and share an 03 636 with my other buddy that wants a stunt bike. Or i could just buy an 03 636 and save myself a few grand. However I really like having a nice clean full fairing bike for cruising on and if I only had a 636 I know Id just stunt it out and would eventually get sick of cruising on that. So Im leaning towards getting the 06 750 and sharing a 636 but idk. Guess im just looking for some input. What about keeping the 636 full fairing doing full exhaust, pwr cmdr, sprockets, and maybe a new front end and leaving it FF but puting a nice black cage on it painted jet black like the color of the bike? Share thoughts thanks guys. oh yea first post i finally got my laptop back from lojack haha it got stolen and gofigure i had lojack on it and they found that **** just as they would a bike.

ff 636 ,i have alot of gear but you don't need it for a 636 so you just go up like 10 on the rear and still have a pretty decent street/lot bike

-1 +10, a clean looking cage that matches my black paint, and all my performance mods and i should be fine? what do you think the power difference is between a 636 with full exhaust, power commander, k&n, and sprockets and a 750 with exhaust

Re: GSX-R 750 or 03 636

i would stay away from the power commander ,we had a dyno at the shop i use to work at and the power commander is a waste in my oppinion....

of course the 750 is gonna have more top end but the 636 with some gear will pull like a truck down low...

very twitchy. ive seen both cases where the power commander cna make a huge difference and where the power commander cna do next to nothing. i guess it might depend on who is doing the tuning and what other base mods were on the bike prior

i know i dont need a power commander to stunt it, but i wanted that to open up some more power at the top end for cruising because like i said i want to use it for both a great stunt bike but also able to cruise around at high speeds

dude, if your gunna get into stuntin...then you just gotta do it and not worry about your street riding. Once you get into stunting and set your bike up that way....your street riding is gunna suffer.

with a stunt bike....there is no such thing as a minty bike...especially when ur learning. the only way your gunna get it full fairing minty street rider is to buy a new one and only use it for that.

if your so into each....buy a mint bike for your cruising/transportation....and get the 636 for strictly lot.

Re: GSX-R 750 or 03 636

If you want to lot stunt, get a bike just for that.

If you want a street cruise bike, bet a bike just for that.

If you want both and can't afford it, too bad pick one...

Reason being, riding around a geard bike on the street and taking it to the lot wears the **** out of it quick, let alone breaking **** where then you won't be able to ride street. You'll end up spending more money keeping that one bike up for street and lot in the long run, than just saving your ******* pennies and getting 2 bikes.

+1 it all started with street killing.. but when u actually get into the technical **** u cant practice the way you need to to get better if you are worrying about the bike.. buy two bikes and like he said if u cant afford choose the one you like the most until you can afford both.. i havent yet touched the streets of az but to get gas and slow wheelies in our neighborhood... cant afford a street killer.. i was thinkin bout asking santa for that ****..

I want the best of both worlds too, but if all these guys are right, i'll end up having two bikes.
