Turnin up the idle on the new R6r
Re: Turnin up the idle on the new R6r
some one started a thread about this but i don't remember who , if i remember he made a bracket to mount a cable adjuster to and it just stopped the throttle bodies from closing all the way.....
or you could probably turn the idle set screw but that would mean you would have to leave your idle up alll the time because i think you have to take off the tank and air box to get to the set screw...

Not sure if it is possible or not, but on the 600rr you replace the idle set screw with a cable from a 900rr. Not sure if there is an equivalent mod for the R6, but it worked well on my 600rr.

I have a 2007 r6v I dont know if the r6s or r6r have the flybye wire.... but for my flybywire you have to make you own mounting braket and weld it on or mount it wiht a screw and then tap trieds into it and run a cable through. its a pain in the *** to say the least. I have pictures if you interested PM me

Below the airbox in the center of the throttle bodies is the adjuster (it looks very similar to the chain adjusters on either side of the rear wheel, only a lot smaller) you will need a very small hex wrench and a socket wrench
a) First turn the small gold nut, with the socket wrench, to the left a few turns to loosen it. This will allow you to turn the bolt to adjust the idle
b) Next turn the bolt to the right with the hex wrench to adjust the idle (this should be done with the bike running) Adjust in small increments
c) After you have reached your desired idle speed lock the adjuster in place by tightining the the nut (turn to the right) . You should do this with the bike running as well because as you are tightining the nut the last couple of turns could turn the adjuster as well, raising your idle speed higher than you want it.
i posted a thread a few days ago with a pic but it was to small to see
warning- ive heard that depending on temperature the idle may jump up to 3500 but ive never seen it happen

the bad thing is that you cant get to it with the tank on, i fabed a bracket but like someone else said its a royal pain in the ***, but i can be done

oh and by the way there is an idle screw, but if you do manage to turn it up(its even more of a pain in the ******* ***) your bike will run like **** not sure why, but it did on mine and many others, my guess its not an idle screw that your supposed to mess with, and the bike really does run bad with it turned up
but if you can make your own for the throttle bodies do it, i got fed up with it besides i thought the r6v was to cramped and omr doesnt make subcages for it so i didnt know what to do
Re: Turnin up the idle on the new R6r
if your r6 rear peg brackets bolt on from the side then it wont fit ..
i would love to make one for every bike but if i can't get a bike here then i can't make one for it...
