my truck got towed!

so i know this isn't too "stunt" related but i know that a bunch of u also have a truck that u tow ur bike around with so here we go:

i parked my car on the street last night, and it got towed this morning cause i was like 2-3 inches in the red.

i go to the tow yard, and they guy who towed it is there next to the clerk, so i asked him...

ME: why did you tow my car
DRIVER: it was parked in the red
ME: are you sure? how much of it was in the red?
DRIVER: ya, the entire car was in the red, it was almost completely blocking the driveway.

THATS ^^ BULLSHIT....first off, the driveway is about 1.5 times the length of my truck, secondly, only about 2 (yes, TWO) feet of the curb is painted red....making it impossible for my entire car to be parked on the red.

on top of that, my car never passed smog so apparently it was never "officially" registered, so they won't release it to me until monday when the DMV opens so i can get a moving permit

...because of that, i have to pay 2 extra days of storage fees which is bullcrap.

so it's gonna end up being like $250.00 !!!

has anything like this ever happened to any of you? can i sue these ******** or get my money back somehow?

Your front wheel was two feet in the red or the bumper? It sucks, but if you're in the red, you're in the red. Theres always a line somewhere.

bumper

but ya, i guess u're right, it just pissed me off how that ****** was lying about my whole car being parked on the red.

i was wondering if i could like take a picture of the curb showing that there is only two feet of red and dispute it.

Re: my truck got towed!

I feel your pain man. I live in Cali, and I've had to deal with this crap soooo many damn times. The driver's here are dicks. To be honest, your lucky, when my whip didnt have reg, a tow truck came into a privately owned parkin area for an apartment complex, without being called in (i was friends with the ONE security guard) towed it in, than the next day when i went to pay and pick it up, they said the police man put a hold ticket on it for 30 days. Said cause it didn't have a non-op sticker on it, it must of meant i was drivin it around. I went in two seperate times and talked to the CHP Sgt. they dont give a rats ***. But i got worse stories, and most the tow drivers here are jerks cause we got a college student based residence, and they know that these kids will pay their hole damn tuition on that drop fee. But ya gotta think, 2 inches or not, its still over. Crappy? **** yea. And really on the safety side we know it aint ****. But when its the law, and you got dudes lookin to make money off that tow. they're gunna look threw a magnifying glass, and just do it. And the dude was probably to ***** to be a man to you about it and just lied and said what he said. And he only has to deal with you for that next 10 minutes while you hand em your blood and sweat, cause the cops got his back and say so. I'm not a profession basher, don't get me wrong, we all gotta make some cash. But it is a pretty vicious cycle. Hope everything works out for ya man!

You don't have to be shady to make $ driving a tow truck I quit towing illegal parked cars over a year ago because it seemed like alot of bs to deal with for what i was getting paid.In the long run (towing illegal parked cars)your just reaching over dollars for dimes nobody will ever recomend your company for anything once you take there ****.

Back when my first bike got towed, I got the biggest run around EVER

I went to the tow yard, and at first they said they didn't have my bike.. After making some calls they found out they had my bike ,but at another location..
Then they said to me "your dad said you can't have the bike back" I laughed and said "you never talked to my dad, and it doesn't matter what he wants i'm an adult and I own the bike"

They asked for the title and 2 forms of ID... I had to go home to get my birth cirtificate to even get my bike back..

Then, they told me the bike was at one of the workers house.. I had to drive across town to his house, and he had it shoved in the back of his garage..

And he couldn't find the key.. Kept telling me I never gave him a key. I kept explaining to him how the cop made me leave the key in the igniiton.. Finally I just hot wired the bike and took off (it was a old fzr, REAL easy to hot wire)

But not only that. The guys at the tow yard said it was gonna be $110 tow fee and storage fee... When I got the guys house, and went to pay him, he said "I think $130 sounds a little better" I said "why?" And he said "for hassling me to come get your bike out of my garage when im not working"... ******* jew

Since then, I've had my bike towed again. This time my grandpa and his co-worked went and picked it up for me. He picked my bike up with NO title, and no proof he owned it.. The tow yard just gave it to him cause he was a old man

and treated me the kid like ****
