I skated for years and always called myself a skater when people asked what i did. I cant even remember how many times i was broken , beat up , sore , cut or bruised and still went out regardless and tried to push the limits of what i could do. There were literally weeks that i had to have my ex open soda bottles for me because my wrists were to hammered from falling , weeks of recovery when I blew out my knee on the end of a rail trying to qualify for world finals. but i still got my *** out every day and skated as long as my body could physically handle it.
In the years i spent skating i saw plenty of people who rocked all the clothes always had the newest **** out , went to events, skated every day BUT to them being able to only do a couple things was cool and they really had no desire to do more or at least no desire to put their body on the line learning new things.
So I guess to me being able to call yourself a stunter / skater basicly anything is possible when it goes from being not only a hobby but a part of your life. When your willing to go drag your *** out of the house regardless of how you feel and push yourself to do better and learn new things just for the sake of learning them. I wouldnt call my self a stunter yet simply because im still new to the game and have respect for those in it much longer than myself, although regardless of cold weather etc ill still go out and ride every day if possible.
Ryan S. he imo IS the definition of a stunt rider, hes an extreme example of the mind set that people in these kind of sports have. The oh well **** it im hurt that doesnt mean i CANT do it any ways attitude. I dunno for me thats why i love things like this, the people who are serious about it are often some of the best people to hang around with every day because it keeps you motivated to gtfo of the house and make the most out of your life. None of the things anyone does really matters in the long run so do the most you can with what you got and dont settle for second best.

i don't think the amount of tricks some one can do decides if some one is a stunter or not ..
i was teaching some one how to slow down a wheelie and he looped his minty 600rr and flip floped across the parking lot ,he picked his bike up kicked all the broken parts out of the way and kept trying.......
thats a stunter.......

wtfs this bs thread about again? how many to be counted as a stunter. sounds like someone is more dependant on there image.. really i dont measure it that way. noir have i thought it that way.
I guess if i seen another rider with a "stunt" bike. and he/she was doing stunts on that bike, eg slow wheelies. i would count that person as a stunter.
If the rider only had say 1 bike and it was a minter and the rider on done stoppies burnouts and power wheelies. thats not really a stunter, thats like a advanced noob

I saw something like that once at Dead End in Daytona about four years ago. I few guys were killin it making everything look eeeeeeasyyy. And this is when the game went from 900rr's to 929's. Anyway this guy in maybe his mid to late fourty's (no it wasent OMR) on a MINTY ZX11 shows up. All black with some nice clean chrome. So he watches for a little bit and try's clutchin it up it first at almost a stand still. After his 3rd or 4th attempt, dude just grabbed a fist full of throttle and that ZX went flyin away. I felt bad because he had that defeat/what the **** was I thinking look in his eyes.

To be a stunter you got to get up when you fall... Simple as that, whether you are teach mc neal or scratch mc steel! ha ha

i got two stories if the gettn up when u fall **** is what makes u a stunter: first when i first got my HB i wrecked a seatstander no shirt doing like 35 before anyone could get to me i was up and riding a slow staggered back to them DRIPPING BLOOD and skin dangling. Now I ride in a jacket or at least a shirt.
also did a street ride here a few months back and im rockin a SS and my boy is next to me he dips back like hes gonna scrape and im ridin along like hmm whered he go. look back he scraped a reflector flipped his bike i set it down whip around to go get him and he passes me in a wheelie before i could make it 10 ft.
