got a 03 636, just wondering why everone says powers cages suck???

imo, the cage doesn't suck too bad, it's the service. took me 4 ******* ever to get my ****. then it wasn't all there. then it was hard to get credited right. i called a hundred ****** times till it was like i was the paint in the ***. oh yeah, plus i've almost put my ****** bikes in the woods a coupla times goin around corners and hitting it. the cage takes a good beatin but it's bulky.

 

my powers cage has taken a beating it has saved my motor a few times! its a solid cage!!!

 

I BOUGHT swingarm spool sliders things from them and the all thread they provided was way to big to fit in the rear axel. I had to buy new all thread but i wasn't suprised because it seemed about right for the stuntriding industry. so what im saying is if you buy from any of them then you have a good chance of it not being 100% great. either they'll **** up the product or the shipping or whatever. Another point: I run a SI cage and bar, both came in good time but to get the round bar on i had to cut and re-weld it b/c it was too small. So don't expect perfection from anyone in this business

 

so far i have had good luck with the cages and bars i have owned, only gripe i have ever had is that my freestyle bar stuck out to far (which i didnt know at the time because i was a squid) and made me eat **** twice before someone told me it was out to far.

i just gotta fi. seems good. just doesn't look like it'll save a lot of things on the bike though.

 

my **** held up great on my R6 and that bike didnt hit the ground as often as my f4i but it definately hit harder.

I run a powers cage, subcage and subties. My bike takes a ****** BEATING from me and I throw it like a $2 ***** but It takes it. I hardly have ANY scratches on my bike and everything is straight. that is on an 05 GSXR 600 though

 

i have seen more then one fi cage rip out the motor mounts and destroy the stator cover on the first crash .....

if the cage is gonna damage your bike then why have a cage ?

 

Everyone I know that has ordered from Powers(3 people), never got their cage. They all waited 3-4 months, and then had to go through a long process to get their money back.

If you have a 636 and a freestyle cage, you better have stock in stator covers

 

That sums my experience up 100%. I picked up a bike with that cage installed, took it off and tossed it in the trash after one session.

 

I've tried em all, powers is the only one I buy

 

That powers is working out nice for ya. LOL I'm looking to buy another one now. Time to stunt out the 636 again

 

i run powers, solid as hell. just bulky (hits in some corners and sucks when drifting). and its not the easiest on your shins either! but im satisfied none the less.

 

i like living close to powers..i get my stuff in a day..lol....good products for me...i never tried any other but why switch when they work so good...my 2 cents...

 

+1 now i wear shinguards tho haha but the cage itself is solid mine has bounced off the ground like a basketball and there are no scratches nothing bent the cage is awsome but it is a bit bulky still worth it in my opinion to know your **** is protected

 

I had a FI cage on my 954 and kicked it out from 12 Hard! It took it like a champ:YEAH Only suffered a frame slider bushing and 3.. $1 bolts.

905 = crap same fall broke my stator, cage, and plastics.

I just bought a 05 600 RR with a powers cage and was seeing if you guys think i should scrap it or try it. Its BRAND NEW.

i was thinking a FI cage again or a tygershark?
