so my friends wanted their tanks beat down....at the lot on the spot...well i grew enough ***** and started smashing...not too bad with nuthing but a foot and a sand mallet and alot of stress on me...i worry tooo much..but they came out pretty good..paint chipped but oh well..it happens..

 

Looks like you've got them started off pretty good, but there is a lot of room to beat them down further and create a bigger lip on the back.

BOTH OF THEIR TANKS DIDNT LEAK AT ALL...I WAS SUPRISED considering mine leaks....they dont need big O-TOWN dents..they each weigh 150 soaking wet, so the little dents worked good for their butts

 

you did a pretty good job for the tools that u used.

i'm only 145lbs. soak and wet but i wanted to dent mine a little farther back so i can do better combos and such like spreader to highchair and froggers a lil easier than they were with my last tank so i dented mine like this with a rubber mallet, ball peen hammer, and then sprayed it with some truck bed liner and heres how it came out.

 

thats pretty nice man i wounder if the truck bed liner keeps **** from leakin or if gas eat through it hmm, i like im tryin to dent my F2 tank i got it bout were the other guys dents were but want it alot deeper for my big ***

 

Gas would just eat through it in seconds, it's just textured paint. I ******* hate leaky tanks.. i've had three. Love my new one but it leaks from under the cap for some reason.. gotta fix that.

 

yea i didnt know i mean when i worked for a place that did it it was really think like 1/4 inch thick and rubbery the outside was gas resistant and stuff but under side idk same material tho , i might try it maybe it will give it some grip to idk i probably get hooked up ill let yall know haha

 

it does give it pretty good grip but i highly dought it will hold back gas, its juat like paint and will eat it for sure, its not the same stuff they use to professionally line truck beds with, its just a rouch texture of paint but is rubbery, i'd go with some jbweld to fix it, i have a tank like that also. if you want it to be deaper remember to cut out the splash gaurd on the inside before pounding it down to begin with.

The kind I used has held up for a whole season so far, and my gas cap leaks so its seen alot of gas. The gas stained it a little, but I dont even think Im going to recoat it yet....I used a Duplicolour spray bomb truck bed liner, but you have to lay it dry not too wet(thick)...

Dont really have any pics on this comp but this is after like 5 months of use. still looks good to me

 

+1 i got the entire setup and directions from JohnnyP himself, he's the true innovater of nice tanks without using bondo haha. i'm not sure if mine will leak or not i dont believe it will at all but i have yet to fill it, its winter so i'm leaving mine dry i wont be able to ride untill march or so, its snowin like a ****** outside right now,

use a dremel with a cutoff wheel to cut out the splash gaurd or use a dremel with a drill bit that made for cutting sideways lines instead of straight holes, thats what i used, then i used the dremel with a sander to make it smooth, piece of cake really if you have average mechanical ability

 

It shouldnt leak if you dented it in with the stock gas cap on and closed the whole time....Mine only leaks because Im running a Vortex gas cap, and the rubber seal isnt sealing all the way around.....And it only leaks when I overfill my tank and go past 12....Im sure if I spent 15min working on the rubber gasket it would stop leaking, but I just keep a rag in my fairing and wipe it when I see it dripping....
