lots of ****. inconsistancies in the pavement can start it, follow it up with some choppy *** throttle control, poor body control, tire pressure too low, lots of ****. throttle out of it.

Re: What causes a wobble in higher speed wheelies?

road/tire conditions play big parts in it. sometimes you can bring the bike out of it by bringing the front end higher or speeding up a bit but not always. but rider ability does count

Re: What causes a wobble in higher speed wheelies?

I picked it up in 3rd gear and got a small wobble... I wasnt chopping the throttle... Its easy as hell to keep it at bp in 3rd.. My tire pressure is at 16-18 psi...

body position.. I was really low on the bike...

thats probablly what caused it

ill experiment a little.. Just want a few pointers before i mess around at a higher speed.. Would hurt a lot more if i crashed so any advice i can get ill take..

all in the rider lots of throttle...stay away from yellow n white line they will cause wobble and tank slap.... throttle up may make less wobble or preasure in one direction then re straighten up

i tried running 25 one day and i can ride it but i had to make so many adjustments i dropped it back down to my normal psi.. does that change when your doing higher speed?

i was riding 25 psi in 1st gear.. i had to fight with my bike just to keep it straight

question:

would the bike be more stable if i was higher up on the bike? i was riding FIS.. if i took my foot on top of the seat would that help?

Chopping the throttle will do it. It may not seem like you are chopping it but you probably are. Just be easy

Re: What causes a wobble in higher speed wheelies?

It's mostly rider input.
Relax and let the bike do what it's gonna do.
The old skool stand ups with both feet on the front pegs??
Locking your knees always helped.

Re: What causes a wobble in higher speed wheelies?

i always ran about 22psi in my tire on my R6 and i used to do front peg standups in 5th at 90-100 while riding with some faster guys that do a lot of twisties, just for the hell of it and people thought i was crazy, but i never had a wobble doing it, try both feet up front or riding staggered shouldn't have any problem. SS's are always wobbly over 65-70 i dont think it matters how good you are, i can do an SS for miles and miles around corners and all anywhere from 15-60MPH and stay at one speed the whole time, whichever i choose as far as mph. the only time i ever get wobbles doing anything is over 65mph

definately

higher speed wheelies don't like a flexible tire.
