Dressing for cold weather Practice ??

HI guys ... I was wondering How you northern guys Dress for long cold sweaty practice sessions ??

I was Hoping that maybe TheHATE or ScottChychul or other Alaskan or canadian stunters might chime in and share their knowledge and experiences with " The Best way to dress for the cold"

The temps have been dropping here... I've been practicing 2 hours a day....4 to 5 days a week....and I'm old and fat....and sweat my *** off always.... Well, now that it's colder out .... as soon as I start sweating ....I start freezing ....and its a very wet, cold , unpleasant feeling. I want to practice all winter long here (cause we have mild winters) But I need to learn how to dress for it .

Thanks for any Advice

Re: Dressing for cold weather Practice ??

Harley has jackets pants and gloves that are heated, the jacket and pants are thermostat controlled.... havent ever worn them so i cant give u any feed back, I know the jacket was somewhere in the $200 range. I'll ride unless there's snow on the road, when it's around 10 i wear boxers, those pj pants, and jeans on top.. I also have a pair of codura pants... but the things are slippery as ****, you slide off in sit downs and turns they blow. then i wear a beater, t-shirt, longsleeve shirt, hoodie, and then leather jacket, and a ski mask (the ones that cover your nose down not the whole head) underneath my helmet. this is the truth, it'll make u look an extra 45lbs in the belly, but you can still rip down the interstate the day before the ice storm... and people look at you like ur crazys, its kinda fun hahah

Re: Dressing for cold weather Practice ??

You need a good base layer Underarmour or something like it cuz it wicks the sweat away from ur body and keeps u dry
Heavy things like cotton or wool are just gonna **** you cuz its gonna hold the sweat near ur body and then the air makes u cold, get some underarmour and then just put on ur gear if ur riding hard you wont need to pile on clothes its not bulky and still lets u move freely

I work at a ki/board shop in the winter I've sat threw hrs of clinics on how to layer haha

Re: Dressing for cold weather Practice ??

^ thats some good motherly advice

It got to like 36 degrees here in FL a couple of years ago
I just wore thick underwear/thick socks and jeans/a shirt a thick sweater and a jacket.
I got a pair of thin gloves to wear under my leather ones and a ski mask under my helmet.
I was still cold as **** but it was strangely fun.
Last year I just rode the truck around.

but I've been livin in Fla and TN for the last 21 years....So I'm not really up to date on the newest and best technologies when it comes to undergarments for cold weather sports.

so instead of going out and buying some crap that doesnt work...i thought that maybe someone with alot of experience on the subject might help out . but thanks for your knowledgable response
