Gunna start....your opinions!

Hey,

I was talking to a few guys, and I told them i wanted to get into stunting. They told me they didn't know if i should really stunt my '04 F4i (cuz its a ****** cherry) Perfect paint, not a scratch on it....

But i really wanna do this, practice everyday, etc. So i decided im just gunna get a cage for it and give it hell.... i can ruin it a little bit

i was hoping you could help me on a cage first.....i want something that'll protect....but not bulky as ****. I was looking into a sick innovations cage.... What do you think? And with this, can/do i remove the fairings? its a nice bike, so i would want the plastics off but i can bang it up....otherwise. if i do leave them on, when its on its side, does the cage prevent ANY contact with the plastics? Also, what do i do about gearing/sprockets? I'm just starting and i'm just gunna start off with 15 or so mph wheelies and such (maybe a little slower)....what do u suggest? I mean i want something to make it easy to get it up, but not make make my top end speed go to ****.. As i am just really getting started, should i just work with stock gearing for now? It will be less twitchy for sure... i am really committed and assume i will start slow stuff too in the future....but for now.....im not sure.

That would mean the only thing for me to really get is a cage? is that all the protection im going to get/need for now?

Those are the 2 things im looking into right now...any suggestions?

thanks for the help!!:YEAH

Re: Gunna start....your opinions!

You're gonna need a whole lot more than a cage, unless you have a different image of stunting than most of us. There is alot of money/parts/time tied up in a stunt bike. And for the cage question....everyone has their own opinions on what cage is the best. FI is definitley the least bulky and cages DO NOT protect plastics. TAKE THEM ALL OFF if you do not want to mess them up. HA.

Re: Gunna start....your opinions!

what they mean by going to google.com is type in www.stuntlife.com "how to wheelie"

this search feature on the site is gay and does not work which i do not know why if this is a stunt forum, we are going to have alot of people asking the same questions all the time and its pointless because we cant get information we really want cuz of the search bar but anyways

u dont need sprocket, just learn to clutch it up, take your time, things will get easier and easier just prac alot and u will be good to go, as far as cages go. i have a FI on my 954 but SI is also another cage to look into to...just look around. get new clutch lever if anything haibikeshop on the top of the page has all ur needs

Re: Gunna start....your opinions!

You DEF need a cage. If not you will be buying case covers all the time. Just be aware that if you leave the plastics on, they're gonna get fucked up. Just do the damn thing. Ha. Bikes are supposed to have character. :YEAH

Yo I'll trade you my 06 GSXR 600 stunt bike for your F4i. Got everything on it you need to stunt. Ask anyone on this site - Suzuki's are better than Honda's. Trust me on that one.

Dude, i'm not going to speak for anyone else, but i know i started on a minty bike. Was kinda cautious at first, then after the first dent/scratch, i said **** it. As someone mentioned before, gives the bike "character" :YEAH Now i got a bike just for the lots though, but still have my other, not so minty anymore, bike setup to stunt the street if i feel the need. I have an SI on the F4i, it's streetfightered, so not much plastic to hit. Just invest in the extended sliders too to prevent the occasionaly roll over. Other than that, take it slow, push the limit, and wear gear

Re: Gunna start....your opinions!

i started on a new bike and now its smashed but i love it even more. one thing i wish i had done was sell the plastics when they were mint. you could do that and then buy any parts you need. a cage is about all you need to get started and maybe a stunt headlight if you ride on the street. oh and dont forget the pain pills.
