Mine goes up and down when its hot and cold, i just set it when its at normal temp and leave it. I run stock gearing, it rolls fast and thats a good thing.

Re: 04-05 gxsr issues.....

you got to take the clutch switch and unscrew it, just let it hang, if you unplug it it wont work...

or you could cut and tape wires together?? but just let it hang.. less work!!!

Re: 04-05 gxsr issues.....

Sounds similair to an issue I had on my old 02' gsxr 6. Set it to 3K then under idle load it would surge down to around 1.5k. Cursed me for a whole year. I changed everthing from motors-wiring harness-fuel pump-ecu-TB......etc. Never really figured it out. Good Luck.

mine does the same thing but not as bad as yours..hot and cold its way off but once i get to like 170 degrees it starts going to 3000 where i have it set but it surges and goes to like almost 4000 without touching it then ill go to clutch it up and it goes right back to normal....just a gixxer thing ive learned to live with it haha good luck with it

Re: 04-05 gxsr issues.....

Anyone try the "pair mod"? I have been having the same problem ... starting off at like 3k and after it warms up a little it's down to like 1800-2k. It seems like 2k-3k just seems to be very inconsistent. When I go above 3k it will lock in and below 2k it is fine. I am not a mechanic by any means but I get by, and this pair valve mod sounds like it might help ... but that doesn't say much coming from me. I am pretty sure that the pair mod is the same as the "kleen air mod" that the 636 guys are doing. Are all of you other guys running the stuntex oil pickup as well? I heard that it smooths out the idle. I am not running it yet.

Everything I have just listed probably has nothing to do with this idle issue, just hoping that someone with more insight could rule it out for me I guess.

Did you have this problem before you installed it?
