gettin it up

I can ride a wheelie but I was wondering everybody's little extra tips for gettin it up in a higher gear. Say your on a stock 600 and it just doesn't have the power to get it up in second. You know like bouncin it up or giving a little back brake as you dump the clutch. You know, getting everything you can out of the bike.

Re: gettin it up

1st gear bro , idle raised , slip out the clutch the same time you are blippin back the throttle ,clutch it straight to BP , cover the RB cause most of the time youl have to catch the bike past BP . Throttle control ,RB control , slippin the clutch just right control.lol , but seriously keep clutchin it up in first ,I know it seems smoother in 2nd . But youre goal should be to slow it down get control ,eventually find Idle ,etc.(forget the bounce method)Ial
ways try to focus on my height by keeping an eye on my front forks ,basicly when they are level with the road ,right in front of you ,front tire, fender in your face etc. thats the BP ,There wont be increase in revs , accleration
and youll find when you go beyond that its hit the hit RB or hit the tail or bar. Good luck get a cage ,some gearing ,up at least 12-15 , a bar and practice the same **** over and over and over etc....

Re: gettin it up

Dude, like I said I can ride a wheelie I was just using that as an example. Some people can do more things with a bike than others. I' decent I can't do highchairs or nothing like that, except on a quad but that don't count. I was just saying if you were really trying to squeeze the most out of a bike.

wtf woudl you use the rera brake for when your bringing the bike up?? thats counter productive, and in all honesty if you can wheelie as well as you say you can 2nd should be no problem!!!

1. accel
2. roll off throttle
3. bounce/clutch/shift weight
4. wheelie...??

Re: gettin it up

If you were to throw the f3 on the dyno i think its max touque is somewhere around 8500 - 9000 rpm assuming it revs to like 12000 if i remember my history correct. Soooo what you want to do is get it to 2nd gear get your speed so your at around 8000rpm then stand up, bounce down as you pull in the clutch, as its coming up DROP the clutch and stay on the gas full. This way your maximizing the bikes max tourque as well as doing everything you can to help the bike come up. If it cant do it then you either need to tune up your **** or your having a problem with commiting when you drop the clutch and stay on the gas.

Re: gettin it up

My old F2 had problems comming up in second and I learned this trick. I never had problems comming up in second after that.
Bounce & Clutch

I got in the staggered position. Pulled in the clutch, put my weight forward compressed the shocks and the same time I was giving gas. Then as soon as the forks are all the way compresed release the clutch & lean back. Once you get the timing right the forks will help push the front end up.

Go over in your head and pretend your on your bike. Focus on what & how your going to do it & after you got it in your head try it on the bike.
I went over it in my head before I tried and I got it up my 3rd attempt. After the 1st day I never had problems.

Re: gettin it up

I wasn't talking about anything in particular, or my bike. I've used a quick tap on the rear brake as I was really tryin to dump the clutch on this piece of **** 4 wheeler before. Trying to get a little extra torque out of an underpowered motor. A little extra help with the weight shift and help for a faster launch. No one has any idea what I'm talking about? But I was just talking about personal techniques in general( whatever stunt, whatever bike) from you more advanced riders out there. I never claimed to be a pro, I stunt for fun where as a lot you guys are competing professionally all the time.

Re: gettin it up

well when i would slip up and forget what gear i was in and clutch it it would come up slow and instead of looking like a squid i would slip the clutch again while i was still under power to throw me to the bp but it is really easy to over do it. i dont like doing it.
