GD F4i!!!

ok, starting problem... the starter works, but for some reason the starter switch isn't working. i not sure if it's in the button itself, or where the relay is. I have power to everything else, just the button won't start the bike Ideas?

Re: GD F4i!!!

anyone looking for troubleshooting advice should be more specific..

what recent changes have you made?

clutch wires?

Kickstand wires?

tip-over sensor?

did you remove the front farings recently?

did you actually open the starter button box and jump it?

or did you just apply hot power to the starter to know that it works?

Re: GD F4i!!!

ya, check the power at the switch to see if you even have power at the switch, then check when you push the switch if power goes through and you have power to the starter solenoid.

first, check to see if your starter solenoid fuse (attached to the solenoid) isn't blown...it's a 30amp.

Re: GD F4i!!!

ok, let me be more specific then... the bike has no sensors connected that would keep the bike from starting, after just pulling the fuse for the fan (so i could hear) it doesn't seem that the FI is working (no whining) also. I have just recently replaced that fuse in the relay and to know that the starter works i jumped the connection and it turned over. Going between comp to bike and checking on things as of now, trying to find my damn tester light

Re: GD F4i!!!

actually, there are tons of sensors. neutral switch, kickstand switch, clutch switch....if any of those are bad then the FI won't work and teh bike won't even turn over.

if you said the FI won't turn over, how does the bike start when you jump it then? it won't run if the fuel pump isn't working.

Re: GD F4i!!!

didn't say it started, said i got the starter to turn over so i know it works... I'll start checking the other sensors and see if i come up with anything. I checked the switch, the Blue-white had power, the green-pink had power at the switch, the yellow-pink didn't. Neither had power at the relay, and it was all the same with switch open or closed. Probably just confused ppl lol

Re: GD F4i!!!

Yo lemme tell ya sumthin what i have done with this bike.

The kickstand has nothing to do , already bypassed it.

The tip sensor is bypassed ( removed tip sensor )

The clutch sensor is alredy bypassed too.

The only thing you need to check is your fuses to make sure everything is good to go.

I believe it is your battery , have em charged and i m sure your bike will start after that.

Or you may have loosen ground wire somewhere which i replaced the whole new ecu wiring harness system 2 months ago maybe you need new switch on/off control.

Re: GD F4i!!!

Oh by the way , everything is bypass already so that way you wouldnt have to waste ur time looking for some kind sensors.

Theres nothing to do with sensors.

Re: GD F4i!!!

ah, there you are... heh... yeah, i've check all the fuses, many times, heh, just to make sure i haven't missed any... Should all the wires in the switch (besides ground of course) have power when the connection is closed? That is if the kill switch is working correctly anyway
