i started doin fast seat standers last week, and almost everytime i do it i get a wobble and have to bring it down.

will just dropping the psi help?

and on a side note, for a jump from SS to spreader and vise versa, do i need a hand brake? ...and if not, can u guys gimme some any tips/pointers be4 i try it?

 

ain't an expert on these but from what I've been told by all the others on here...a handbrake would be extremely useful for spreaders (I'de recommend covering the brake)

Also I've been having the same problem with the wobbles...I think just dropping the PSI will help sort it but try be smoother with your throttle, alot of it is to do with throttle control.

(PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong!)

 

cant give u any advice on the rear hand brake considerin i stil luse the petal levar. havent advanced that far..

Check your spring.. Make sure you have it firm as possivble. that and ur subframe could of gotten loose..

If thats all good and cant figure it out..

Worst way to lay down is Not the untightened steering dampner on ur front wheel. but ur rear suspension..

LATE EDIT: PSI.. Can give u soft wobbles. never had any harder around 15psi-18..

Hard wobbles / meaning violent uncontrolable = suspension..

also one of the nastiest ways to lay it down.. never have but seen it.. Gruesome wheelie wise

 

i have also had the same problem for me shifting my weight seems to have a effect on whether it starts to wobble or not. for everything such as spreaders and highchairs where you cant get to your foot break a hand break would be a plus, but you can do it without. ive done ss to spreader without a handbrake just dont be a dumb *** or try to get to far into balance point. i can get to where i run a constant speed in a spreader or highchair but not to where i decelerate cause i dont feel like looping one out.

 

no handbrake needed. Learn to slow ss without a handbrake first, then get one

 

i know it isnt needed but well, i like to push it but only so far. id rather not take my chances. im comfortable running a constant speed, slowing em down seems like to much without a break for a parachute

 

i believe wobbles have more to do with poor body positioning than anything else....u might want to work on that more than anything....

I get wobbles every now and again but mostly its if im not smooth and my body position is fucked up!

 

You will still have wobbles every now and then it is a part of ridding. you must corect the body or the bike.

i cant attest to this for SS but on staggered if i wobble i try and slow it down and usually that helps ....would you find this to be true?? dip it back get on the brake and then go from there?

that's funny.... I dont ever wanna have that nickname...wobbles are scary ...

i usually freeze up and they go away..(although all mine have been small compared to ones Ive seen on vids)...seems like they are rider initiated

 

my rear suspension is reallllly soft could that have alot to do with it?

 

I've never heard of wobles being caused by a soft suspension.
What usually causes wobbles are
1. to much rear tire pressure
2. having a shot rear tire
3. not being smooth enough on the throttle
4. body movement

Just try to be as smooth and consistant as posible.

 

no but if your blinker juice is even slightly off level it will cauze all kinds of wobbley wobbles

 

real soft tire at higher speed will cause you to wobble especially when its attatched to not being at balance point. the quickest cure for me in any wobbles is to throttle the bike right on to the brake. dont try to be a hero, get a hand brake, u dont HAVE to use it while ur doing ss's but its nice to know that if u **** up and go too far u have something to bring you back. i rarely use my handbrake while doing ss's and **** on the highway but i like to know that i can if i have to.

 

Ha well my chain was F*cked sooo bad it wasn't funny. So EVERYTIME i did a whoolie the chain had so much slack in it, that it would create the weebles :YEAH

 

...only if i had a HB

but for now, i'll try droppin the psi, see if that helps.
