Re: dislocated shoulder

hey man, sounds to me like wat i did to my shoulder a couple months back.

i went to get physio and he pretty much put it too me like this.. there is 2 possible things that may of happened 1 being disclocated and 2 being refluxed. the 2 are verrrry different things. disclocation usually needs pressure from diff angles to be able to pop back in ie doctor pulling and pushing at same time. if u refluxed it like i did it just means it pulled out of the socket and when u moved it slid back in.

this can damage the joint itself and ofcoarse stretch the *** out of the muscles all around it which would also make it hurt allot...

i rested mine for a good solid week and then was able to ride but not being too full on. prolly 3 weeks all up and it was all good.

just try and avoid anything that makes it uncomfortable or any kind of pain and u should be all good!:YEAH

Re: dislocated shoulder

i disloocate dmy shoulder about a year and a half ago sucked big time had a doctor put it back in then was told not to even move it for four weeks started excercise after that holding large elastic band with elbow at sideand rotating in joint ,said to work at about 30%of max weight so it affects the rotator muscles directly and to repeat as often as poss, when bit better get in the gym helps no end have popped my shoulder since in other crashes but went straight back in but for the most part if i keep excersing ny shoulder feels pretty stable,i dont worry about it coming out in normal use only if i crash, just work slowly and you should be ok

Re: dislocated shoulder

id' check with a doc. i pulled my rotator cuff and the doc said i had to keep moving it and do certain exercises. she said if i put it in a sling it wouldn't heal properly. that was my case, though. check with a doc regarding urs.

Ive done both. one time at the same time. lol

USE YOUR SLING. let it heal. otherwise you WILL need surgery.

Re: dislocated shoulder

Mine has come out a bunch of times. I wear one of those EVS shoulder braces now when I stunt. Doesn't do a whole lot but it does give it a little more support.

Re: dislocated shoulder

Shitty............been there myself(several times). Best advice I could give you would be to let it heal for about 5-6 weeks, then start(slowly) in on a shoulder workout routine. The Deltoids are the main muscle group that hold your shoulder together. You have three sets.....front, side, and back. At first, I'ld start out w/ maybe a 2 1/2 pound wieght. The excercise is called a Deltoid raise. Keep your arm straight and raise the wieght from your thiegh(sp?) to a horizontal position.......do not go over your head, as this puts uneeded stress on the joint. Do this exercise to the front and side, then bend over(as if to pick something up off the floor), let your arm dangle, and raise the wieght to your side(this works the back set). Do three sets of exercises per Deltoid group, and do repetitions of 12................I was told I needed surgery, and this workout tightened my shoulder up to the point that I said "**** surgery"...........and it hasn't popped out since..........knock, knock......LOL..........good luck!

Bought one right after my first injury..........never helped me.......but.....my dislocation was posterior(backwards), so it could be much diff. from normal dislocations.

Re: dislocated shoulder

i love stuntlifeMD

im sure theres 40 ways to dislocate your ****, try www.webMD.com it will at least show you the different parts of your shoulder and show you what kinds of questions the docs will ask you and where the areas of concern are.

dont forget that theres cartliage in there that will continue to tear and deteriorate under certain circumstances. take your buddys health insurance card and get yourself checked out
