>> 954 Idle Automatically Jumping up from 2500 to 4000??? WTF?<<

So I take my 954 (-1/+12) out to play sunday btw, put all the servo stuff back together, and the flapper back.... bumped up the idle to 2500k, and every so often when I would blip it up from a dead stop(sitting, or standing), the idle would want to jump to 4000, so Id bring it back down, and once I let the clutch out it would drop back to 2500.

Weird.

Its hard to predict when the idle MAY jump up.

Anyone run accross this?

Yea its because your sprocket is too big, go back down to a -1 and +10 and it will clear up for you.

sounds like it's trying to choke itself...... i don't really have a clue, but sounds like it's fast idling to me, weird that it does it once in awhile.....

Ya, too almost as if it was running out of gas, starving for fuel.

i never got a chance before i sold it. but im not sure why the sprocket size would affect the idle from shooting up to 4000 rpms. i figured it was just a fuel issue. i know the 929's had some idle issues as well.

lol still got the 55t. I did some read up, some say the same thing about the idle gettin stuck up high, most say that ya cant take the 954 idle past 2200 without it doing what mine is doing.

Yes I have the stock idle cable, I've heard of people puttin 900 cables on their 600rr's for this same reason.

I need to figure out what to do.

The cable won't make a difference. And the idle pulls plenty strong at 2200 so just set it there and ride it.
