few basic newb questions
few basic newb questions
i dont know jack about bikes but i want to and i learn fairly quick. ive alreayd learned a lot just looking around and lurking the threads, but i have some basic questions i know will be cake to answer for you guys.
---12 bar, wtf is it?
---sprockets, dropping down, bigger, smaller, all that crap. some for top end, some for acceleration? what are stock numbers ect.
---Streetfighter, what kinda bike is this, whats different about it then others, blah blah blah
---Handbrakes, stunting levers, all that crap. what different controls are on stunt bikes(or are available) to help with stunting.
im just looking for a basic rundown of this crap, as this is some of the stuff i see and have somewhat of an idea, but dont know for sure, so i get confused when reading for sale ads and different info about bikes. thanks for any help

12 bar.....its a bar that can be either flat or rounded attached to your subframe used to "scrape" ......various tricks etc.....
Sprockets.....getting a larger rear sprocket increases the tq across the gears and also decreases the overall speed of the....theres more to this as in each gear is shorter therefore giving it more specific use....1st for the lot 2nd for lower speed wheelies 3rd over all street 4/5th highway depending on speed
Streetfighter.....Just basically refers to a bike with the front fairing removed and a different headlight assembly such as acrebis etc.....some fighters will have mid fairings while others will totally strip all fairings except for the tail section and tank/tank cover!!
Handbrakes.....come into play only after you have mastered the rear foot brake in a wheelie, this opens up tricks such as SS(seat stander) etc......
