ok so ignition switch diode, sounds like the best one yet. can i just bypass the ignition ? " hot wire it " or is that something honda thought of over the years so the bike cant be stolen " by hot wiring "

Evan, trust me bro i am sick of waking up every morning and sqeezing past my bike to get to me sink and i cant even take it out and ride it . i cant go do the thing that drives me because of some stupid ******* problem i cannot figure out

but back to the bike. will any honda ignition work? can i bypass it ?

no you cant hot wire it it back feeds the neg signal to the cdi box to let it spark, unless you cut a wire or broke a cover this is prob your best chance
but back to the bike. will any honda ignition work? can i bypass it ?

I'd definitely guess the ignition switch diode. I've had a couple of them go bad (954 & F4i -- I'm sure 600RR is the same). See if you can get a friend to let you use an ignition switch to try it out.

Re: wouldnt be asking unless i was totally out of ideas

the 04 and 05 do. they have a 3 wire ignition setup. the 06 only has a two. i think the 3rd wire sends the negative back to the cdi box through the "diode" to tell the coil packs to spark. someone correct me if im mistaken

Dude my buddies did this and i've had a couple come in to the shop cuz of this......After a hard drop is shorts out the system. On the left side of the bike the wiring harness has the "plug ins".......unplug and plug them all back in.....and then the cylinders should fire over....this keeps the plugs from getting spark.

good call bud. been through that one before. "story" my wiring harness got pinched in between my triple and turn stop. broke the gray plug. so i hard wired all the wires together. "i am a electrician by trade" so good connections ran for three weeks and two shows until i crashed " on the left side " so i am wondering if my harnes shorted somewhere? i pulled it apart and redid all the connections i made and even tried canceling out the front light/guage harness my connecting the green wire from the blue plug to the red and white one on the gray. im tearing my hair out on this **** guys! ****

on edit... i think the engine will turn w/ CPS disconnected...

it's worth a try... it's the 2 wires comming out of the top of the clutch cover... right by the clutch cable.... check the red connector up in there.
