subframe snapped in a circle...

dont know how but my subframe snapped in half tonight while i was just doing circles..... first my frame cracked and now this...... i thought my f4i was a tank.


sooooo
now i need a new subframe asap. split seat and i need it cheap and fast!! can anyone help me?

you mean the pos just broke while in mid circle? thats crazy, i thought these things were strong

i dont know man. it has lasted a long time....... through alot of ****. it must have been cracked and gave tonight while i was in circles......

I welded and reinforced mine.....thing is stout as hell.
We plated it with diamond plate as an undertail and on the sides. Works perfect. AND prolly still cheaper than getting a new one.

find a good tig welder and have him go to town on it plate and gussit the **** out of it but still thats crazy. same **** happend with my quad about a year ago. the subframe must have been cracked for a while. i went for a scrape and before i knew it the bike was upside down, one week to the day after looping my minty gsxr all i could do was laugh!! i had nothing to ride for a month

FYI my rider sean parrish used to snap subframes like no other. but I made some side supports and hasnt had a problem yet.

Not unless i can ride up with someone else.I would love to come but not sure at the moment.And thats right after the birthday.mmmmmmm Could party up there.I will have to see what i can do.

Heres a couple pics of what we did when my sub broke. May not look like much, but it takes a pounding without blinking now!

We welded the undertail in, and welded 1/2" x 1" solid aluminum supports from side to side inside the subframe, welded those to the undertail too. then the sides have peices cut to fit and welded in. They're cut so I can still access my coolant overflow and my shock is still mounted up. Worked out really well. This winter I want to tear it down and get everything powdercoated, but the diamonod plate welded on the subframe look will work for now.
