F4i brakes still shudder!!!!
F4i brakes still shudder!!!!
I accidently put this in the wrong forum the 1st time....
Still can't find out why my front brakes shudder when I try to do endos
I mean it gets BAD!
I went back to clipons for a little while and I noticed that it got alot better and smoother when I would do endos but when I raised the front a little to make my BP more comfy I noticed it came back.
Well I just put MX bars back on Friday and had to sink the forks a little more for clearance and I rode yesterday and it was even WORSE!!!
It comes up fine and smooth when i brake hard but as soon as i start to let up on the brakes a little closer to BP it vibrates so damn hard it's scary!
I tried sanding the rotors like the old man here at a local bike shop suggested and that didn't help at all. I thought maybe it was my head bearings and went to buy some but he said that most likely wasn't the problem. I talked to him a little more and told him that I do endos on it and he cut the conversation off short and was like "now that your tellin me that it's probly your fork bushings" and walked away.
My rotors seem straight no sign of warpage and because like i said it was great with clipons. Tire has awesome traction, I have a 636 radial for my master now. I champered the leading edge of the pads like extremeacres told me in another thread.
Forks have 1.0 springs with 15w PJ1 oil (feel great by the way),
I cleaned the pistons on the calipers (took them out a gave them a full cleaning),
No signs of a sticking caliper (pad wear even),
I tried tightening my stearing head a little just in case (no Slack)
My forks aren't bottoming out from what I can see on video.
I'm running out of ideas.
Could it be that the forks flex more when lowered in the tripple and let them start to rattle back and forth??
Any input would be great I wanna get back to my endos

Re: F4i brakes still shudder!!!!
So You Can Lay Your Bike On Its Side And Spin The Front Tire Effortlessly. With Out A Lound Scrape Scrape Scrape.. . Make Sure Both Calipers Are Tight On Both Sides..

On My F4i They Are Direct Bolt On And Are Rock Solid. If You Have Floating Mounts On Whatever Bike Your ON Make Sure The Bushings Arnt All Wollared Out And Fitting Loose.

Like I said it was fine when I lowered the front back down to put my clipons back on. Shudder came back when I raised it up
This was just last weekend with clipons.... Endos are near the end
