Re: REAL benefits of big sprockets
Leave it stock till you can 12 without wrecking. Until you can do slow wheelies already a BIG sprocket doesnt really help things it makes it more twitchy. Maybe just go up a few.
Re: REAL benefits of big sprockets
i could do slow wheelies on my MX bike... but engines stalled when i slow it too much... i rode a GSX 400 RR and it seemesd to nervous on the throttle to even attempt a slow wheelie it was like.. ON/OFF it sucks.... your bike does like that guys?
Re: REAL benefits of big sprockets
Must've been a 2-stroke right? Sucks for stunting. Like you say, the power is either BLASTED ON or off... Gotta love it...
Re: REAL benefits of big sprockets
i love the throttle blast, im +17 on a 2005 zx6r (636cc's) like 120hp bike and it kicks ***. u can tame it with tiny throttle inputs... you learn to barely turn it mm's and it all comes together.

Re: REAL benefits of big sprockets
I believe going up to a larger sprocket before your ready is a great way to force yourself to learn faster. I sucked at holding bp on stock gears goin fast so i jumped up to 50 in the back and down 1 on the front. then started working with 2nd gear. within a few hours i was goin good so i bumped the idle up and went for first gear slow wheelies. goin pretty good so far, but i wont give cirlces any more tries untill i invest in a cage. ive gone through 2 stator covers and a radiotor so far.
Re: REAL benefits of big sprockets
I could never quite explain it...thats a perfect explination, the only tricks you really need big sprokets on is circle tricks...and maybe merk steps...depending on how fast you can run...any other tricks a larger sproket helps for? I never really thought of it....?
