Learning circles

I heard somewhere that its best to stay on the out side of the bike, I recently learned on the inside with one foot in the seat and i dip into the right. just wondering how some of you first learned them, like on the outside or inside, and what stance?

Re: Learning circles

I am right there too, i have found it stays up for me easier when i put my body wait to the right, while doing them to the left, otherwise it just seems to fall in and doesnt get all the way around, i try to remeber to be up close to the bars and wait to the right, this is in the staggerd position,
i am still learning though

Doing a wide steered "circle" is not the same as an actual circle at all.

I'd learn SS idle and work on SS circles.. I realized learning staggered Os is a waste of time. I guess it helps with others a little but everything comes off SS circles so I started working on those and in 3 sessions I've gotten 1 so far compared to like a month on staggard

Re: Learning circles

yea lefts are pretty easy.... go left seat standers..... slow it down and transfer all your weight to your left foot it will go on its own... once you get about halfway around just tap the gas acordingly and it will keep going... the trick is hitting the gas becuase it will go halfway on its own to get it to keep coming around u need to give it a boost. thats how i do em they are pretty easy.

Re: Learning circles

Definetely go to the left. I also understand what you ment by not wasting your time learnin stagard o;s I spent a year learnin stagard and with one foot on the seat o's, now Im learnin ss o's and can turn 3-4 pretty consistantly at a good lot. Its true you can learn everything from ss and its probably easier but i worked on staggard first bc I didnt have a HB. I seen dudes taht can kill ss but cant do more than 1-2 staggard. Circles take forever to learn but to be considered "good" you gotta have em on your resume.

I think its all about seat time, and havin the ***** to keep tryin after a nasty high side. Also let the bike do the work dont try to just muscle it around because youll get off your balance, and your not learnin anything. Good luck its a struggle, I only learned how to do them 6 months ago so I still remember how hard it was. Id get one or two then I would nt be able to do it again then after time tthey got more consistent and smoother. Nobody ever learned circles in a day.
