Gixxer 04-05 600

I've been reading through the pages, and I haven't seen this issue come up before. Flame away if this has been asked a million times. lol

I was doing a highway wheelie for 1km, and when I set it down, a big cloud of oil smoke came out of the exhaust then quickly went away. I was doing this wheelie at about 12,000rpm. Would this be a main contributing factor and I should just get the RPMs lower? Or is there some kind of mod I have to do to make sure oil doesn't get somewhere it shouldn't. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Gixxer 04-05 600

my 05 R6 used to do that, clean your airbox oil gets sucked in there when you keep it up high for a while. theres a thread on how to make a crankcase vent on here somewhere.

You sure it wasn't just your front tire? You know the whole 747 effect?

100%, it wasn't that litte puff of smoke u get from setting a wheelie down at like 80-100km/hour, it was a lot, and coming from the exhaust.

Re: Gixxer 04-05 600

no pickup here, 1 quart over and no problems at all..... Have had the smoke twice since bought new, but it was the same situation, high rpm's, long wheelies.... So i just keep it in the lower rpms and kick it back to slow it down when i start chasing it.... Over 20,000 on it and no motor problems, the subframe on the other hand...
