ive been doing wheelies for about 5 months now. i have excelent throttle control but the problem with my wheelies is i cannot keep the wheelie going as long as i should be. not because of shitty throttle control but because my bike leans and i have to put it down early. some of you told me to lean on the peg in which the direction i want to go. well i stand staggard and i tried putting pressure on the left rearset because it usually leans to the right and nothing is happening. i try putting my body weight to the left to even it out and she still leans.
im getting pretty aggrivated with this as you could imagine and wouldnt mind some helpful suggestions. maybe one out of 5 wheelies comes up perfect and i can ride out in a straightline. id like to keep her straight everytime ya know?!?!

99.9% of the time I have problems it is because of my body english or just plain old user error. Not bagging but it might not be mechanical, or it might be I don't know. I'm no lot killer yet either.
Just saying how some of my problems seem stupid a few months later when at the time I was changing stuff on my bike left and right because that "had to be the reason why", or hell even buying new bikes so I could blame it on them too!!!
Try having your buddy handycam ya for a bit, and then watch yourself riding....that may help you, or it may burst your bubble and make your stuff look low and weak....not that it is, i don't know

keep practicing, so you can move on to another thing that annoys the **** out of ya but for some reason you can't stop trying! That's what it's all about!

i just got some new pilot powers on last week. still have the issue just not as bad as before. im pretty positive my wheelie is on straight it has little measurment lines and thier all lined up. since i ride a lot of twisties i run 32/34. i dont want to lower the rear any more then that. 100 wheelies a day is going to be a cop magnet lol.
my technique looks good ive got vid of me doing a fast wheelie and it was straight. got some pics too. it seems that if i do a fast wheelie she stays straight most of the time. if i pop the clutch straight to balance point to try and get a steady slower wheelie she veers to the right and sometimes the left. fawkin a!

exactly, you can't steer a bike at all when below bp, bring it up, lean back, dip it back, and stand straight, no crouching. My bike naturally pulls hard left due to a mechanical problem but I can still rock the highway and corners no prob.

how do you steer anyways? and since i stand staggard i should have my left leg completely straight? i sometimes have it bent just a tad.

you just need to find a spot you can practice at and go back and fourth everyday untill you get it. Its all about practice.

and this is from the first day i started doing standups. only took 15 minutes for me to get comfortable with it, i was gettin bored with sitdowns.

wheel is not high enough. lean back and give it some brake. I couldnt steer mine for a long time, always went to the right... Get off the tank and lean back, extend arms, and you have 100 times the leverage to move that bitch on 1 wheel.

that seams like some good advice im going to have to try that. but i was told that using the brake is useless unless im behind the balance point. how do you use the brake and when?!? i usually rely on engine braking.

Always cover your brake man, just get used to covering it! if you feel too high just tap the brake, Those didnt look to bad just keep practicing!

I'm no expert but I don't see balance point in any of those pictures or the vid
. Once you get the bike up higher you can move it all around. You are probably just weighting one peg more than the other when you pull it up or aren't compensating for the crown in the road.
