just ate it

hit up some canyons today.

my buddy on his RR went too wide onto the dirt...his bike landed roughly 5 inches away from the cliff.

he took off but we kept riding, on the way back, i was goin maybe 50-70 (no gauges), makin a tite left turn. everything was good, i was where i was supposed to be and was gonna make the turn...all of a sudden i hear "khkhhhkhkkhk"

i knew it was the cage scraping, thought if i kept scrapin i wouldve slid. (right?) so i tried to straighten out and slow down as i go off road.

right when i got onto the dirt, i lost it,a fell to the left, the bike rolled over me.

a few cuts and bruises but im good. .im lucky i had my boots/jacket/backprotector on!!! ...but i was in shorts ...so my knees took some damage too.

damages:
bent pipe, i'm guessing it hit a rock.

anyway, just wanna say that tygershark is DA ****!!! its still in one piece. god knows wat woulda happened if i had the 905 on.

Re: just ate it

my 02 R6 had a powers cage and i'd hit this left turn into my complex atleast at 35mph and there was a little water way half way through the turn, everyime i hit that turn the bounce from the water way thingy would cause my to hit my cage hard n never affected control, the noise at first scares ya

Re: just ate it

makes me wonder why they design cages like that, my SI cage u can rail on and it'll touch at the same time as the footpegs... so basically you're a goner anyways.

anyone remember bullo drifting onto the cage and rockin a sitdown out of it?

Re: just ate it

glad to hear you're mostly OK :YEAH

when you get some spare cash...get some knee/shin guards to wear when you're wearing shorts.... and you'll be Braggin ' on them (like you're reppin' your tigershark cage now) next time manbearpig sneaks up on you like that

Re: just ate it

LMAO

i have shin guards, ****** bombass ones too....just didn't have em on cause they are too bulky. and it was like 90 degrees. was gonna drop off my jacket before we left too!

btw, i was lookin at the bike again, and there are more damages, and i know y i went down.

...(bent headers, cracked plastics)

when i straighten owt, at the point where the asphalt ended, there was a step down, then there was dirt, kinda like goin off a curb, my headers caught it, bent in, then the bike threw me off.

the header is bent in maybe almost an inch, but the bike runs fine, should i be worried?

Re: just ate it

what kinda cage do you have that goes behind the header? 905? mine goes underneath... I dunno about the headers, depends how bad it is I guess, you would only really notice it affecting the top end if anything... did you skip standups and go straight to spreaders or are you doing standups now too? bp?

Re: just ate it

cool I dunno where I've been. yeah tygersharks don't go under the bike at all, I always wondered why that was. Mine has a big plate underneath the header that would've saved them in a situation like that, but stock headers are cheap, like $50 on ebay
