Re: bunny hops

Last time I use to hop my mountain bike kinda like bunny hop. i use the pedal and kinda like jerk/scoop up the pedal with my feet. lift both of the wheel few inches of the ground. If i cycle fast enough I am able to jump over a distance of 3 to 5 feet.

yeah, havent tried it yet, but I dont think the jerk/scoop method is gonna work on a bike lol

Re: bunny hops

i think it's preload the rear suspension (while initiating a wheelie)... and then drop the clutch harder than normal.... but Im just guessing...

Look at this drag racing pic... I found it years ago on the net ..and saved it cause of the Physics of whats happening....I've seen this happen on a bike at the dragstrip once too (in a photo)

also ...I think I've seen Teach (in a vid) do this

alright ...I just watched it.... be careful.... I honestly dont think there is any Brake involved.(let alone slamming the brake..hehe)...It would suck hearing that someone faceplanted trying this ...LOL

Re: bunny hops

It looked like the tire touched the dude on the ground a lil bit.

He is a crazy sob in my opinion laying on the ground like that...

...who was that rider? It seems like I saw a pic of someone doing this same thing not too long ago...it was a shot from the front right before the hop.

LOL

u prolly know a shitload more about bikez than i do, i know that for a fact...especially after reading that fork mod thread u wrote.

but im 99.999999% sure that the back brake is needed to do a bunny hop.

Re: bunny hops

yup, just clutch it up hard right when the front wheel comes up slam the brake and jerk forward.. Its not to hard really, but im not good enough to jump over people

Try it off speed bumps, thats always fun... If you hit one just right you can get 1-3 foot of air haha
