i used to murder a 87 and 88 cbr 600, i loved them, excellent bike to learn wheelies on, i had stock gears, +10 and +26 at different times, it did well with all of them.
Doesn't stall at the balance point, ran great, no problems, has great power, durable as hell.
the rear tire is pretty skinny, not quite as stable at very low speed as a 180 tire but for learning Id def recommend an F1.
i had really good luck with both of mine

both of mine had fuel pumps that took a **** though, i wired a jcwhitney fuel pump to both $20

Do it!

I was at the spot back in the day and these guys rolled up to watch. They were knocking their buddy, telling him his bike sucked and it would never wheelie, etc.

He let me ride it. 15 second later, I rolled past everyone in a slow roll. Even stock that bike was ****. Not sure you'd wanna go ***** out, but hell, you could learn on it and have some fun!
