Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

just measure were they are now and when you switch the clipons drill them in the same place .....it's not rocket science ....if you can't figure this out then maybe you should never work on your bike ever....lol

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

you have two options,

#1: flip the tripple clamp add a spanner nut and flip and switch your clip-ons like so
(You must add another spanner nut or a couple large washers
to the stem or the top tripple clamp will not hold down the bearing cup and
your stem will loosen up)

#2: This is how I will be rockin em from now on (flipped n switch under the tripple) cause the new GPR damper.. but its still sick

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

its cool, i dont mind my tripple looking stupid. it served a function so i could have my clip-ons higher with out lowering the front end... so i kept the stock susspension geometery. functionality isn't all about looks, just like your spray painted bird poop welds sub cage

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

it would have bothered me but your powder coating looks like a bad spray paint job and it peels off in a stiff breeze

holy crap, bird poop welds, never heard that one. i don't know , but can't dude flip them, and then just swap the bars? or are they 1 piece? i keep an old bent one from the nine in my truck, good ghetto hammer or punch then he doesn't have to drill?

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

on my 04 r6 all i had to do was flip them and drill the holes, they went over the triple like they originally were... I don't get why people put them under. feels awesome though!

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

well people put them under the trippe cause on 636's the clip-ons dont come on top... the bike was designed to have clip-ons under the top tripple clamp and come like that from the factory. so if you put them on top you'd have to lower the front end an inch.. it doesn't seem like a big deal to you, but a few mm's changes characteristic of handling on sportbikes.

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

So tripple is flipped? And you didn't have any problems mounting the gpr?

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

u cant use the GPR with the tripple flipped cause the base plante utilizes certian gooves on the top of the tripple clamp..

Re: 05 636 flipped clip ons....

do you guys drill a hole into the clipon to lock it into the top clamp (like it comes factory)? or do you guys just tighten the clipon really freaking tight. i like how OMR's look, but i dont want the clipons pivoting while riding. i have an 03 636 i'm just assuming its the same. thanks
