Re: so i am now scared to wheelie my gsxr

its all BS, i dont believe it. Squids use to ride Suzukis, thats the real problem I have a k5, wheelied so many times and my bike still perfect. Same as me

Re: so i am now scared to wheelie my gsxr

This is very worrying, I just popped out on my lunch break and stopped at the magazine stall to check out the new "Fast Bikes" magazine we get over here in the UK and there was an article about a rider who sent in pictures of his 06 GSXR 1000 after a small accident. Low and behold the front end had snapped off exactly where the weld marks are on the main subframe ( the older gixxers didnt have them here may be thats why they never had this problem). He claims he was clipped off his bike by a taxi and crashed... the shocking thing was that the bike wasnt in that bad a state except for the front end which was dis-connected to the rest of the bike.

I own a GSXR 1000 k6 model and its got me worried now aswell. I was just about to start using it for stuntin but I think I have changed my mind. I dont want my bike doing the splits after coming down from a wheelie.

It is abit of a let down as I am a hardcore suzuki fan. I might sell it and purchase a kawasaki 04 636 or honda f4i (purely for stunts) as they seem to be built like tanks (according to you guys).

Had to throw 4 welds in my gix6 and it stilled kept cracking. I was kinda hard on the b*tch, but not any worst than on my Hondas.

That's cuz you have to weld it put a alum plate over it and weld around that. And if you don't have tight *** beads on your tig welds of course they'll crack again. Like I said before I had two cracks on the neck and two on the frame that are all plated that have been on for the last year and are still perfect and I crash hard.. A lot.

Doesn't warren jamez ride an 06 600 gsxr? Go ask him how his is goin and I'm sure he'd tell you considering he rides gsxr's .Frames will snap if u let it dive on the ground for a start. my 06 1000 has taken a flogging and no frame cracks that I've even looked or give a ****. I bought it to ride it and stunt it to the end. (till tax time) Yeh those new zx 6's are lookin pimp and cheap on parts.

Heres the article I mentioned earlier. Notice how the frame has snapped very clean at the weld line. *GULP*

Guess the rear subs were so weak that natural progression went to the front of the bike now!!!

Still sucks. Kaw had a problem on the first 10 with the front rim breaking, but they had a recall...and fixxed the problem.

Re: so i am now scared to wheelie my gsxr

yeah, a lawsuit!
maybe if frames were just cracking for no reason, bikes arent designed for stuntriding, theyre built to be light and fast. Wheelies/crashes will take theyre toll on any bike(except Honds );and yes theres a pos 01 600 with many welds and plates sitting in the corner of my garage under its cover.
