Point taken! lol.. ouch.. but i wish i was wearing any type of armor last month. on-coming car turned left in front of me, and i slammed into the back of his car. luckily i wasnt going to fast, i mangled my hand. pretty much new front end and had to replace all the plastic on my bike!

Re: spine protector

I wear this.. I don't ever ride without it unless I'm just commuting etc.

I got it for $120... it's really breathable so it's not problem to wear even in the summer. In the winter spring and fall I just throw a hoody over it. I'm looking to get some knee pads soon, not sure if I want just knee pads or ones with shin pads integrated too... I think the shins would be too sweaty and overkill

It's an Azonic Z6, I've had it about 2.5 years. I'm almost positive I got it from www.motorcycle-superstore.com but they don't have it on their website now. They have a bunch of other azonic stuff but I don't see the Z6 armor, maybe they sold out? Jensonusa has it right now for $124 http://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...x?sc=QBIKE&x=y

motorcycle-superstore.com has the 661 pressure suit though... $161.99
The Azonic Z6 is pretty much the same thing except the Z6 has hard plastic on the front, the pressure suit is just padding. The Pro pressure suit has plastic on the front, and a big plastic spine protector on the back, but it's $212.99
The pressure suit has a little more padding on the backs of the shoulders, but the Z6 looks like it's the most breathable.

True, if I lived somewhere where heat wasn't such a big concern in the summer I might have gone with something a little beefier, but I wanted something I wouldn't ever decide not to wear because it was too hot or uncomfortable. Even this Z6 gets kinda hot if you're sitting around or moving slow, but I like how the pro pressure suit has the thumbholes at the end of their sleeves to prevent the arm from sliding up on you, and the spine protector is grade A.

That Alpinestars piece looks nice and breathable

Re: spine protector

whats heat compared to road rash or something worse right??
i live right by Vanc. in B.C., so it's gets pretty damn hot up here in ther summer and it gets damn cold in the fall. but for now i'm just gonna go with a pro suit for this summer and buy a vest for next.
