Re: UFC 71, New Champion......

I am a big Liddell fan.
But to say that this fight was setup?
No Way.
As if Dana White would risk he's whole UFC empire for a rigged fight.
Chuck was being cautious with Rampage, then got hit on the Button.
He was limp, legs flat on the ground. The last punch kinda brought him back around. He was unable to intelligently defend himself.
I hope Chuck makes a Come back but I have a feeling Rampage will be on top of the light heavy weight for a while.

he may have gotten caught but with liddell's attitude there will be a rematch in the near future and rampage won't have the title anymore

He didn't actually get knocked out... The ref called it way too early ESPECIALLY for a championship fight. That said, it probably wouldn't have been more than 10 seconds before he was out cold, but still, for a championship fight, called way too early, imo.

Re: UFC 71, New Champion......

At least now there's a good possibility chuck/wanderlei can happen since they're both coming of losses. Hendo will be facing rampage next, would be crazy to see him hold three belts at once. Fight wasn't set up, Chuck is the ufc poster boy and him losing is the last thing dana would want to see happen, i think he purposely rushed rampage into the fight in the hopes that he would have less a chance of winning. Rampage himself said that he wanted to get more fights in the ufc under his belt before he went for the title. Even though chuck has been on an amazing win streak none of his latest fights have been against strikers, not to say Rampage is a excellent striker but he has good boxing skills, not really a huge upset. I think this fight was a good test for chuck, unfortunatly it ended to early to really tell anything, there will definetly be a liddell/jackson III.

Im glad you noticed chuck went limp. I noticed the same thing. Chuck got his *** kicked again by jackson. Chuck might have been the top dawg at ufc but now that pride is in it, i hate to say all the UFC fighters are going to get worked.

Re: UFC 71, New Champion......

right when it happened everyone yelled bullshit.. but clearly after the replay.. chuck was out.. sucks.. i wanted him to win.. but **** happens, he caught him good. it's not if the knocked out person could come back n fight, which i'm sure chuck could have.. but as soon as lights go out, fights over.

the zunit zackie chan fight was much more entertaining.

Re: UFC 71, New Champion......

that was a poor main event.. lidell did go down fair and square..

the best fight of the night was the armenian guy from hollywood versus teh white bald guy from salt lake city. that was a good *** fight.. 3 rounds of non stop action and heavy blows

he wasnt out because the ref stopped it.. if it had went on 30 seconds further lidell would be beaten retarted.. and the ppl dont want that so the fight was stopped. plain and simple

You clearly have not seen the Iceman fight before because his hands are always down when not swinging his iron fist. He leaves his hands down waiting for his opponent to swing at him and usually takes a few punches on the chin and while hes taking one on the chin he retuns the favor with the stunner punch (usually)
