Stasis Shoes
Re: Stasis Shoes
good point
I started riding wheelies in my dirtbike boots and quickly switched to some tennis shoes, despite knowing I was giving up protection, flexibility/mobility mattered more for me in terms of control, balance and footing.
I don't see much of a way to offer serious ankle protection to stunters in shoe form. Some of the hard armor I have seen pros wearing is good **** though, and offers some ankle protection.
It's better to have seriously reinforced shoes than to rock regular tennis shoes. And I think it's pointless to pitch riding boots to stunters. High tops with flexible armor would probably just offer a false sense of security or restrict mobility. hmmm.
I am going to think about this, maybe I'll be able to retract the "flexible ankle protection is a hopeless cause" type comments.

Re: Stasis Shoes
been tested over a year at nike factory they are safer then wearing a regular shoe by far... if the bike falls on you these shoes maybe the difference between broken feet and bruised feet... i stand by the shoe 100%... i never said they are safer the boots... but when was the last stunter you seen in boots?... i arrest my case... stunters and 80% of other bikers wear sneakers cause they hate boots.... so if you are gonna wear sneakers wear the ones that just aren't leather and rubber.... and if you like boots for ankle protection we got those too... so unlike most companies that make products for road racer and drag racers.. i saw a need to make something for stunters and riders who don't like boots...

Re: Stasis Shoes
all good points.... i think you are thinking in the right direction... i never claimed they are better then riding boots... but they are 10x better then skateboards shoes... if i can help prevent a guy from getting his foot stabbed then i have done my job... and they are other aspects of the shoes ..like grip and comfort that goes into the shoes... regular shoes are not even close to stab proof... these will stand up to most crash situations you will encounter... and i have yet to see one skate board shoe that offers ankle support like a basketball shoe... my corp..has a varity of shoes to pick from some high some low...some are boots... not picking on you excessa..just addressing dave's comments.... if i were selling to valentino rossi so he can do laguna seca... then i see a problem ..but stunters are far from moto gp speeds and danger so we need something catered to us and not road racers.... icon and all the big name companies don't believe in stunters or the market or they would invest way more in the market.... until i see some company make the invest my company has then i will feel different....

I totally hear you. I'm still thinking on it and can't see any way to offer anything in terms of a boot or hi top that wouldn't hamper flexibility, footing and range of motion that would offer enough protection to justify the loss of agility.
Stunters ride so uniquely that there is no comparison with racing and stunting at this specific level. I could tell that on my first slow wheelie.
I will continue to think on it and if I come up with anything I think is even remotely not ridiculous I'll email you specs. I think ankles are important, just don't think they can be well protected without a measurable impact on performance.
I did have one suggestion, special reinforcement could be added to the soles of the shoes, for the skitchers and drifters so their soles don't wear out as fast.

Look plumber, I know this is a complex concept, and with Daves ***** in your face it is probably hard to see, but here we go, one last time for the slow kid:
Just because you don't understand something doesn't mean I don't. I do, in fact, understand impact mitigation through fiber technologies.
And you can snake out people's toilets. Which is something I do not know how to do.
If this makes you angry, that is your personal problem and of no value to this discussion. Though it is funny.
Here you go, my fabulous attention, run back to your crate and roll in it.
Re: Stasis Shoes
FTR Bishop. Dave's point is valid about being careful what claims you make. If the claims on these shoes were to be tested out, make sure it is known they are superior to tennis shoes for riding stunts, not MC boots.
In marketing your words can be used to make people money, even if it's clear what you meant, it's what you say that ***** you when they decide it's easier to sue than it is to get up and go to work.

Re: Stasis Shoes
i have the answer to the boot with feel in flexibility...and it comes out july 15th... it is the boot called the stealth... at the top of the web page on the right... this boot is bad ***...and my personal favorite... it is lighter then all our shoes except for one of them and have the protection threads all over ...i believe this is the first offical boot you will be able to stunt in and not have complaints.... i am sending out a few pair to the riders i help before they go on sell ...so they will give you a update... i already had a stunter to help out during research and development...and he stated this see is the best he ever felt in hi life...he is very well respected and he has never needed a hand brake ...hint hint:YEAH

Re: Stasis Shoes
not worried about that ... i am a marketing guru..and i have the backing of 4 major companies.... i see no matter what people are gonna have something to say as i expected...and when you buy a car and they say it has one of the safest crash ratings.... you would never go crash the damn thing to figure it out...the company got that rating from a outside company the same as we did when we had to test shoes for months.... dave can do what he does best and i will do what i do best..... i can say quite a few things about his magazine that he works for...but i don't ...i even support the mag with a full subscription that i never get on time...but i still buy it on the self then get it in the mail 3 weeks later....everyone has something to say before they have even seen the engineering that goes into the shoes... no stunter has complained that has bought them ... they can feel the difference... so as i did with my show and the wsba tour i am pressing on depite the haters.... i have never done anything wrong to anybody and i never will.... so the proof in the pudding.... buy some shoes

...or Excessa—I think she might have been part of the R&D or something for those.
BTW, the only reason took special interest in this is because my ankles/feet are destroyed from wearing tennis shoes because I refused to wear race boots due to style/function. But there have been huge steps forward in the last 2 years for foot protection/style/performance, so wearing tennis shoes seems idiotic to me. I'm not hating, but just questioning some rather strange claims.
Re: Stasis Shoes
no doubt... i was just messing with you any way partner.... but i will tell you this ... i have a few as we say skater styles coming out and when you see one you like pm me and i will sell you them for a great price and send them over.... i guarntee you will never where etnies again
Re: Stasis Shoes
i think icon and apline stars have failed cause they are no where close to sneakers i seen them... sorry about your ankles guy...but people are gonna ride in sneakers from today until motorcyles are flying the will wear sneaks...claims are no where near strange again if i am going to wear sneaks on a bike i would rather bruised feet then broken feet or cut feet...again i never claimed your ankles would not get twisted up cause that happens in riding boots or anything you wear on your feet...and darius use to stunt in dada shoes...then alpine stars cut the check ...then he started wearing those so called alpine stars shoes...big difference in wearing something cause you want to and cause you are paid too..
i wish i could get darius out of the things and into mine...well i will be talking to you or somebody over there...cause i have to buy ads...so talk to you later i guess
