Highway wheelies

I have been Rockin some pretty long highway wheelies of late; and my concern is oil starvation. My friends gixxer blew up from oil starvation recently so a few months ago I began investigating this phenomena. Someone on another forum said that yamaha put the oil pickups in the back of the pan, so I ceased my inquiry. But just tonight as i was "stuntin" on some harleys (its hog weekend or some ****) somewhere round the two mile point of my wheelie my engine began to sound "rougher" a sign of oil starvation if I am not mistaken. So my question is this. Where can i find an oil pickup for an 01 FZ1? Do they make one? What are my other options if they don't make one?

Use the search button and you'll find your answers. I dont know if they make oil pickups for your bike or if you even need one but stuntex.com has em.

Re: Highway wheelies

I think you might be screwed then. I got an 06 gix 600 and I just found out that stuntex wont be making them for the 06 because suzuki put some tamper proof **** where its too much liability for them to mess with it. If you find a company let me know.

I've only seen em for the more popular stunt bikes too.

You have three choices.

add one more quarter of oil.

dont do wheelie on your bike.

Re: Highway wheelies

are you talking about oil overflow because i think so. i constantly have to add more oil and i dont believe its burning it
i did read your posts and i will try adding some oil im not sure what you mean by quarter though 1/4 of a qart perhaps. a full quart seems excessive and i believe i did that once and it blew **** out the back of my bike untill i changed it. i would however like a more solid solution.

Re: Highway wheelies

off topic

but who is the ******* genius who designed the stock oil pickups in EVERY bike?

What kind of bike needs oil from the front of the pan? When is oil put towards the front? Under hard braking..
When is the bike in most need of oil, under hard acceleration

SO WHO THE **** DECIDED TO PUT OIL PICKUPS AT THE FRONT?!

edit: and to the thread creator.. You would be better off buying a wrecked f4i then tryin to put one together

for one, the frames go for $1500 with a clean title..
And that doesn't include an engine, wheels, forks, sub frame, wire harness, fuel injection, gauges, bearings, sprockets, pegs, radiator, clip-ons, controls, uh should I go on?
