ok, i cant seem to get this damn aribox open WTF (04 636)
i need this right now! help me out thanks. its like its stuck or sumpin i tried prying it open but it aint budgin. thanks

 

if all the bolts are out it should pop right off,keep prying

 

i can pry it open enuff to see ALL THE OIL in there
its like its pressurized or sumpin
im trying

yeah i got it off.
now i have a puddle of oil in there. .. idk wtf to do from here

 

u got it off and open? what i was told to do was wipe the thing clean...use some carb cleaner, and clean the s*** out of the box, cuz u dont want ANY more oil to get into your motor. does your motor fire and run?

 

this is like THE dumbest question but ... .... uhhhh where the eff are the spark plugs??

so i gotta take ALL OF WHAT to get my airbox completely off??

 

if its anything like what happened to my bike you gotta;

pull the air box and clean it all out...pull your plugs and let all the compression out...make sure your plugs arent fouled...with ur plugs out,crank the bike over until all the oil is out of the cylinders. then throw it all back together. what kind of bike is the airbox on that u cant figure out how to get the box all the way off?

its an 04 636.
and when i try to start it, there is a liittle box behind my battery (wish i had pics to explain) that pops like its sumpin electrical
not normal, and idk what it is

 

Pretty simple theres screws around the edge of the airbox and one in the hole in the middle, remove all the screws and it should pop right open....I bet you forgot the one in the middle

 

and if that relay pops like that....battery is prolly dead

 

Or the motor is hydro locked

 

really wouldn't pop if the motor is hydro-locked will it??? the starter would make noise but not the relay right?

 

If your motor is locked up and the starter cant turn it over, your relay will make noise as it tries to turn the starter motor but cant...

 

so what exactly is "hydro-locked"?? and how do i make that problem go away?

 

Hydro lock is when you let too much oil collect in your airbox, then it drains into your cylinders and locks up the motor. Because oil does not compress like air and gas do..........You can fix it if you havent already bent a rod, by removing the spark plugs and cranking the motor over. The oil will shoot out of the spark plug holes....clean everything very well get new plugs and fire it up....
